I appreciate that you searched the forums before you posted and I know this is a very old thread but I wanted to give you a short update on this:
At the moment there is not mobile version of the forum and I agree that the experience is less than Stellar. We are working on a solution though and in the short term we will be upgrading to Xenforo 2.0 which comes with some massive improvements to mobile browsing. The long term idea is to possibly build our own app but as anyone that has ever done something on mobile can tell you that takes time
