Given the scope of HOI3, and the number of provinces, it was practically a given that a few mistakes in province naming would slip through the cracks. Since we forum members are infinite monkies, I figured we could set up a thread to identify those ACTUAL mistakes.
This thread is only about NAMING MISTAKES; things that can be changed by shifting a single province name in the localization file (or two province names at the very most). It's not about geographic mistake, eg "This province and this river are placed wrong", or "This border is wrong."
It's also only about actual MISTAKES, eg, province named after cities that didn't exist in the EU time frame, capital provinces named after some city other than the capital, and pure spelling mistakes, where Paradox's spelling doesn't fit any known language. It's not for debating whether Paradox should use the German or Polish or Russian or (insert language) version of a name.
---------------------------------
So to begin.
NAMES THAT DIDN'T EXIST IN 1936-48
6972 Tracy - Should be Sorel. Tracy was only founded in 1954; it was the parish of Saint-Joseph-de-Sorel, while Sorel was a major city.
SPELLING
6858 Royun - Proper spelling is Rouyn.
6950 St Jovité - No accent on the e; It's St/Saint/St-Jovite (even in French)
