Missionaries?

ok, i have checked the manual, but cannot for the life of me find out how to use them? I have one, I have a province I want to use it on, but cannot. Is there some special thing you need to do? I have nough money to do the missionary thing. But no idea how to use them.

Go to the Missionary map and then but your mouse over the prov. and click the send button.

I had a similar problem. I had two of them and had used one previously, but when I went to place the second one it wouldn't let me. Then when I got the third one I tried again and it let me. Yes I had enough money and also it was my territory.

Any ideas?

It can take several months even years before you will know if the mission was successful. The time for the first mission mite not have run out by the itme you got your second missionary.

Well, see here is the thing. I was playing Muscovy, I had taken out most of the Golden Horde(through sheer force of will and the luck that comes from gang atatcks from Lithuaina and new formation of Crimea/Astrakhan) well, I had control of the provinces, but did not get the send thing. Strange thing is, I am playing a Chinese GC now, and I get the send option. Course, have no missionaries, but that is ok. Maybe it was just a random annoyance? Really not sure what I did to warrant it. Oh well. Many thanks all.

don't golden horde provinces start out orthodox? (not sure.)

1- you must be able to afford it, sometimes 500 gold is needed
2- you can't be doing anything else in the province (no building manufactories,promoting bailiffs)
3- you must own the province
4- it must have a different religion than your state religion

if it fails there is a potential revolt.
if rebels capture the province it(missionary) might disappear.
chances are you'll need 2 tries or more to succeed in a low % province , but you can get lucky.

that explains it. The lands to the very south are muslem, so that is why I was trying. But I had started to build troops and I believe bailiffs there. Thanks, that is cleared up.
