I'm thinking of starting a new game as a Catholic power with the goal of converting as many non-Catholic countries as possible to Catholicism.
I'm considering either Chile or Argentina since the European powers are all busy doing European things, and these two countries have a lot of potential and don't have slavery (which is why I'm not choosing Brazil, since chattel slavery is against Catholic teachings). I would empower the clergy, keep a moralist party in power, and whenever religious issues come up I would always choose "there is but one true religion."
I'm not sure how to spread a religion to other countries, though. Colonization is easy enough but I'd think I'd have to actually conquer other countries and not make them satellites.
