I noticed that the marriage of the first wife of Tancred d'Hauteville was missing in the history database. There was a marriage commented out though with add_spouse=127057 at 1003-01-01. That character does not exist anymore and I assume it was intended to be Muriella (10000) so I reused that date since it looks resoanble. I guess we could move it forward to 1006-01-02 so she will be 16 at the time of marriage if you prefer.

Some sources say both his wives were bastard daughters of Richard I of Normandy but other soruces say that that theory is discredited today. SO I say we should leave both wives as they are with unknown parentage.

That's a myth, not based on any evidence, emerged in the 16th century to the effect that both wives of Tancred de Hauteville were daughters of Richard I Duke of Normandy.

It really doesn't matter as the first wife isn't missing at all since it's a myth. Did I say it's a myth? It's most likely fanfiction in form of shipping between the daughters of Richard I and Tancred.

If you didn't know before you do now. :)

Voy, I am a bit confused by your answer. The first wife is already in the character database as the mother of 5 of Trancerd's children, it is just the marriage that is missing.

That Richard I of Normandy is Muriella's father though is indeed as you say most likely a myth. But that she is the mother of five of the children sounds plausible enough to me.

EDIT: And if you are correct about Muriella being entirely fictional then she should be removed from the database and Fredesende be the mother of all his 12 sons.

If someone could look at the de Hauteville (and incidentally, I do believe it is de Hauteville and not d'Hauteville) children then I think that'd be useful. I think some of them may be in the wrong order, so it could be worth double-checking their dates. I know we're not going to have accurate, specific birth dates for each character, but for example should Robert Guiscard not be a few years younger than Drogo and Humphrey?

One obvious error in that dynasty is that 42010 Constantine (son of Humbert) is listed as a woman, whereas the real Constantine was of course a man who later fought for Alexios Komnenos as a mercenary.

As for the employer line, I've given that to virtually all normans in my game since I hate how they always end up in the wrong court: almost all of Willy the Conker's invasion team ends up in Apulia if you play there, and most d'Hautevilles aren't in their proper courts either. But that's stuff for another bug report.
