After playing a game as a duke in Lotharinga a while ago I tried saving the game and going to sleep, but then when I went to resume the game the entire holy roman empire was missing, as seen in the picture below. Also, when i tried to start the game as another character, I got a bunch of blank pop ups, and I could not continue playing the game at all.

I tried deleting the local content, verifying the game cache, uninstalling and reinstalling, disabling the steam cloud, but nothing I did seemed to fix the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Please register your game on this site, so that we can be sure that your copy is legitimate.

Secondly, from what i can see the history files for Frisia, Lotharingia and Bavaria are missing. (This is an historical start, i presume)

Also, you said you had tried to save before going to sleep. Perhaps the saving proccess was aborted somehow?

Ok I have registered the game on this site, and I thought the same thing about the history files being missing. But it seems strange that an uninstall + reinstall wouldn't fix all of the files. I deleted all of the save files too in case they were corrupted.

Well if there is some strange save state like thing that my files are in I'm just going to completely wipe them from my computer and redownload.

Nope. Not that are enabled anyway.

So I had a previously backed up copy of CK2 on my home network which I used as the game files after uninstalling everything to do with CKII on my computer and yet the problem persists. That back up which was on the network didn't have the issue when I used it on another steam account, which makes me think that the issue lies with my steam account or cloud.

Is there anyway to remove my cloud data or something like that?

There is no Steam Cloud save in CK2 (yet), only local. And I can't see what could be wrong with your Steam account that would only have that effect, nothing else.

When you did your re-install, did you manually delete all CK2 stuff from under both the Steam and the MyDocuments directories?

Is it just this one save game that's affected? If you start a fresh game it is OK? If so the save must have been corrupted somehow, you could ask in User Mods for help fixing it.

Hey thanks for the response. Yep I'm pretty sure that before I did the reinstall I got absolutely everything ckII related off my computer, from the My Documents and the steamapps directories.

And no its not the save game that is corrupted, the kingdoms are missing in all of the historical starts on the map that is shown before even choosing to play the game.

I'm not really sure what else to try, but I'm not in an urgent rush for a solution. Thanks for all the help everyone!
