Prelude VI
" Secundo Bello Deorum Part One "

The realm of the mortals had fallen into chaos as pagan fought monotheist, monotheist warred with monotheist and pagan battled pagan. The Second War of the Gods had begun and this time was to be fought on both planes of existence. The Treaty of Olympus had only delayed the inevitability of war. In Egypt the Pharaoh of the 33rd dynasty, Nekhetiwptah set his eyes on the Berber tribes to the West. When the gods of old returned the Libyan civil war had been raging for well over a year. The civil war had begun as a political conflict between the House of Representatives ( HOR ) and the Islamist National Salvation Government ( NSG ). Then the Mujahideen and ISIS joined the foray both seeking to carve out their own slice of land.

After the " Resurgence " the Berber gods and their divine brethren sent out an ultimatum to return to their worship or face death. The HOR bowed to the ultimatum after news of " the Kaaba Incident " came to Libya. The NSG, however, was an Islamist faction with a support base comprised mainly of conservative Muslims. The HOR with the help of their patron goddess Libya ( for whom the country was named ) almost destroyed the Islamist coalition. The Islamist coalition held out against the Pagan forces in Benghazi and Derna. While civil war raged on in neighbouring Libya, Egypt seemed to be flourishing under the rule of the 33rd dynasty. In truth, Egypt's civil war was fought in the shadows. Soon after El-Sisi's conversion, he closed down both Islamic and Coptic institutions and banned both religions. In a weird turn of events, Muslim scholars had become the greatest allies of the Coptic church practically overnight. El-Sisi oblivious to the threat of the Monotheistic Resistance declared war on Libya. The Second War of the Gods had begun.

Prelude VII
( The Battle of Bethlehem )

Isaiah 19:1-25 - The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.

At the time of the " Resurgence ", Israel and Palestine maintained an uneasy truce. After the " Resurgence " when nations began to collapse and the Pagan god's returned any truce that existed between the two ceased to be. The Israeli settlers a minority in the West Bank ( and with no one to defend them ) were massacred by vengeful Palestinians. In Gaza Hamas' ranks expanded greatly with recruits from the huge influx of Egyptian, Saudi and Jordanian Muslim refugees. While Israel's enemies swelled with recruits from their Arab brethren fleeing persecution Israel's conscription policy and its own set of recruits from non-muslim refugees were enough to balance their foes surge of manpower. Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh of Hamas seeing a chance to strike launched Operation
" Iadat Al-Tawhid " seizing Beersheba and effectively the whole province of Negev.

The loss of Negev was a huge blow to Israeli morale and almost resulted in Netanyahu being impeached by the Knesset. Netanyahu seeing these made a deal with both the Sephardic and Ashkenazi Grand Rabbis promising them autonomy and privileges in exchange for their supporting his ascension as Melech of Israel. Though many protested to his abolishment of the republic the Israelis both from the left and the right were united in the common threat that was the Palestinian factions. While Hamas had secured the Negev, PNA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad urged on by the rival faction's success launched an offensive on Afula in hopes of marching on to take Nazareth and the surrounding region. The Israeli General Gadi Eizenkot expecting this had placed a battalion in the region with Bedouin and Lebanese auxiliaries. At Afula, the larger but less experienced PNA force was soundly defeated and pushed back. As IDF forces swarmed into the West Bank the desperate PNA Prime Minister negotiated a treaty with Hamas recognising his counterpart in Hamas as the true Prime Minister. IDF troops marched on through the West Bank with minimal resistance finally reaching Bethlehem where a large PNA-Hamas force stood ready to defend Palestine against the Jewish oppressor. But before the battle had begun a large Jackal headed man in Ancient Egyptian Garb holding in its hand a large Khopesh appeared in the birthplace of the Messiah.

Anubis the Egyptian God of Death had come for the Holy Land. At first, the PNA-Hamas force attacked the Giant with their guns but failed to injure the Giant only annoying it. Then with a swipe of the hand, a hundred of Palestine's sons lay dead. The Beast then turned its attention to the Children of Israel attacking them with its gigantic Khopesh. Both Palestinian and Israeli united in their attack against the Pagan god only annoying it slightly. It seemed that the Beast was invincible. In the Church of Nativity, Christians gathered to pray in unison. As Catholics chanted in Latin with Orthodox in Syriac and Greek the Beast began to stagger. The Beast became aggressive and tried to destroy the church which held the insolent Christians. Imams noticing the Beast's discomfort bowed towards Mecca calling on Allah's aid in their battle against this god of Ancient Kemet. Rabbis adorned with tallits began to cry out for YHWH as they did battle with the gods of their ancient foes.

The Beast struck out with his Khopesh shouting out in the language of Ancient Kemet " Mesneh " before collapsing onto the ground. As his words rang through the Holy land all modern machinery began to malfunction, guns disappeared, computers vanished and empty space stood where factories had lain before. Above the land where the god of Kemet had fallen as if written into the air were 5 hieroglyphs

The preludes are helping to give a picture of the very complex situation.

This is very true.

Glad their helping you get an idea of this strange world I've created. Also sorry for the delay in chapters as I've been trying to get the mods to work again after the new update screwed some of the mods up.

If I read that right it sounds like the curse of Anubis is on the world.

Prelude VIII
" Secundo Bello Deorum Part Two "

1 John 5:21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols.

Inanna sat on one of the many couches lining the barge of the Ra thinking of times long gone when her realm was the Heavens itself. Lost in thought she did not see as Manaf the Arabian Sun God sat beside her. In a soothing voice, he said: " Greetings upon thee O Goddess of the morning and evening star might I be allowed to rest on thine couch ". The Arabian god had taken on the form of a handsome young Arab man dressed in the robes of a Bedouin and in his sheath, a dagger moulded in the sun's blazing fires. The Sumerian Goddess smiled at her divine colleague " Forgive my rudeness Manaf my thoughts had brought me back to the days of Ancient Sumer and as for your request if it would please you to keep mine company? ". While Manaf's form spoke of masculine beauty Inanna's sang of the feminine elegance. Inanna dressed in the robes of a Nin ( Priest-Queen ) of Ancient Sumer coloured purple to proclaim her royal status. Her golden headdress shone in stark contrast to her locks of dark black hair which fell all the way to her shoulders.

Suddenly the Barge which had been floating through the seemingly calm waters of the Duat began to rock violently. The Goddess stood up changing her form to one more suitable to War. Manaf to the Goddess' distress had not moved a centimetre " It must only be Apophis for who else would dare threaten the Pantheon of Ra ". The Goddess calmed sat back down but did not change back her form. And true enough out from the waters of the Duat arose a gigantic serpent who struck out at the barge. Set struck out at the Serpent as it bared out its fangs over the Sun Barge only for his Khopesh to be flung out of his hands by an arrow. An arrow made out of Light. For behind the Serpent, a Host of Angels "stood" ( or rather they floated ) at the ready armed with weapons of every sort " For the Lord Our God !!! ". The Angels charge caught the gods unaware's and many of Egypt's deities were slain by the Host of the God of Abraham. Ptah who had been drinking from his cup of date wine was the first to be struck down. Al-Lat was beheaded as she reclined on a pillow and her ichor ( Blood of the gods ) rained down upon her divine colleagues.

Inanna already in her war form charged a turbaned Angel and impaled him on her spear. Suddenly defenceless an Angel swooped down towards her making to attack her only to be struck down by an arrow. She turned to look for her saviour and saw Manaf dressed in chainmail aiming his bow at yet another target. Grinning she turned back to pull the spear out of the angel's body. Waving the spear in a war dance she chanted in ancient Sumerian " Alka Wardum Innana ". Two lions materialised before the Goddess and began to attack an Angel. Once the lions finished tearing the Angel to shreds the Goddess jumped onto one of the lion's and charged an Angel that had cornered Set. The Goddess fearsome on her beast charged into the Angel striking the Angel down with her spear just in time to save the god of chaos.

Just as suddenly as the attack had begun the Angels began to flee as Apophis stinking carcass lay at the feet of Ra who had defeated the beast of chaos. The gods of the pantheon cheered all revelling in their victory over the forces of God. Below in Egypt, while the gods had been fighting the Resistance had struck. Parts of Cairo and all of Upper Egypt had been seized by the Ulama ( Islamic Clergy ) with Alexandria seized by the Coptic Church. The Pharoah at war in Libya could do nothing to stop the uprising.

War in Heaven and War on Earth - I cannot imagine the Gods will be pleased at what has happened "below" either.
