what I'm wondering; who let you get a monthly income of 230, in 1480, in MP?

Free trading, gives high monthly before everyone else get monopole.

And would say its always worth to mint when you hit over time penalty if you take something worthwhile for it. Mass colonisation and move capital probally best with a free trade country

The neighbor bonus you give out is not that high so should not matter.

If you should tech over time trade 21 is better than constables for a minor country, constables is more worthwhile for a bigger country that need the annual income to maintain its army.

Actually, I was mixing it up in my head. I was at 230 in my test run in 1510.

Current income at 1480 is 185.

It's easy to turn Holland into a trading monster. Holland in the other sunday game has 70 after first session. Must be 1420 or so..

Ahead of time penalty doesn't mean anything until you achieve a new tech level. Frex, if the tooltip says you're 10 years ahead of time and it will take 15 years to reach the next level, you'll probably actually reach it in 10 years and not pay any penalty. As to the England example for neighbor bonus, that's due to lots of countries being ahead of them in tech; it's not all from one country hyperteching. So there's no reason to avoid a tech lead for fear of giving everyone else a massive neighbor bonus.

Point taken.

So in summation it is perhaps not a good plan to buy manufactories at 2k a pop unless it's from census or stolen.

That wasn't what I was saying, although it is the better way to do it. Building them without inflation is superior to incurring inflation to build them. There are enough ways to lower inflation even long before Tax Assessors become available that minting isn't something to be avoided at all costs, just something not to be done just for the sake of doing it. Building manus is one of the best reasons to mint, right behind building a CoT. Also, sometimes you might incur an ahead of time penalty even without spending any money on research (happened to me in my Milan/Italy game with Gov't tech).
