Minor DLC Speculation time

All right go- er, guys, let's speculate on the minor DLC to be added with The Reaper's Due. I'm trying really hard to think, but other than the main Indian faces and the pale hue of the Finno-Ugric faces (even in the Better-looking Garbs mod), it seems like Paradox has a decent-looking face pack for everybody....Saxon faces, maybe?! That would be kinda cool.

It'll be a content pack no doubt, wrapping up a number of various things into a single pack. There will be a unit pack no doubt, maybe late game units seeing as the Reaper's Due focuses on the late-game Black Plague and optimizations to get us there. As for face portraits, it is maybe time for Central Europeans to get some love, so I'm hoping for a Saxon, French or Germanic portrait pack.

East Africans and Western/Southern Slavs still direly need unique portraits, they should be the priority.

Berbers and Magyars/Hungarians could also use some, though I suppose the Magyars/Hungarians could just share a Western/Southern Slav portrait pack.

The standard European faces, the Arab ones as well, could use a new paint job, but it's not something that's really that needed.

Oh, and hopefully the Norse get late game units so they don't look like 9th-century troops for the entire game (same with Saxons)

Not a speculation, just a desire I think will be unfulfilled.

The vanilla portraits really aren't good, for the males. All but one of the beards can be, depending on character type, off center on the characters face. The worst offender is the goatee. The hair is terrible. Every single last hair style. I know that someone put their time and effort into making the initial portraits and I appreciate it but it's clear that since then, the art style has improved greatly.

Every game I play in the Polish/German/French region, I make it a goal to marry as many Irish/Norse/Welsh women or men as needed to change the genetic look. Until then, every single male ruler of mine is bald and beardless. RIP my prestige.

South-West Slavic potraits would be nice. Or East African or Berber...
I'd also like to see Eastern Female Councilor pack.
Maybe some late game units? Late game clothing?
Church-folk clothing?
Corners of the Earth 2 building pack?

Can't decide what I'd like the most out of those first.

An East African portrait set should be high priority (have them wear Byzantine clothing if either Christian or Jewish and Arabic clothing if Muslim). Next up should be a South Slav portrait set. After that there should be both a Classical Roman and Late Roman portrait set (no more having early Roman emperors before Hadrian with beards, mustaches, and medieval clothing). There should also be female councillor models for Eastern Europe / Byzantium, Near East, and East / West Africa. As for the music, some variations of the funeral march theme should work (think a medieval version of the Undertaker's entrance theme).

How dare you insult Danevang's perfect, pristine, infallible work!? It is only he who can make portrait packs which can truly represent triple chins!
In all seriousness though, those portraits don't really fit the game much anymore, considering other packs have went for a different style in my opinion.
It's unfortunate that they cover all portraits if you have no DLC.

Late Roman and Classical seem unnecessary, as they would only be used by characters who were long dead at the start of the game; I doubt many people are willing to pay money for the rare times they bother browsing the history for the few dead characters who go back that far. Besides, it's not like portraying dead people in anachronistic clothing is unheard of in medieval times.

I think they've mentioned that the only new soundtracks are tied with the mobile app? At least I have some vague memory of a dev posting that somewhere.

I do like the suggestion of late-game units, and agree that East Africans and South Slavs/Magyars would have potential.

Their hair does pop out a bit more than the other portraits, doesn't it? I think the Arabs should, at the very least, have a bit lighter skin.

Those Theodosian Walls would be the icing on the cake for every self-respecting Byzantine player... I have good hopes we might finally get them.
