I haven't played for a couple of months, so I'm not sure if this is WAD, but I've got a minor quibble.

Alright, it's more of a major concern for me. I'm set myself up as the King of Aquitaine after winning my independence against the French king and swearing fealty to the HRE. What's getting me, is that I've noticed that a count can press the claim for the French king against my dukes (in this case for the Duchy of Gascogne), and I can't do a damn thing about it. This does not make sense to me. It's tantamount to rebellion! If they win, I'll lose the whole Duchy to the old king. I don't think it should quite work that way.

I think it's to do with the fact that HRE usually has autonomous vassals. Meaning your dukes can independantly wage war as if they were kings, and lose their lands without your interference whatsoever.

Can't you join their wars? I remember I couldn't in such annoying case, but I don't know whether because I had high CA or because you're really not allowed to (and I wonder why would it be so). It said something like "can only join vassal wars against foreign ruler (and religious wars?)".

Lost territory to a revolt. Claim created for the "old" king on that title. Count creates faction to have the "old" kings claim recognised as the new ruler.

Wow that is awesome thinking from the AI, props to him.

I'd say from the little bit of information here, that this is WAD.

It really doesn't make any sense though. This count's forces should be hostile to my own if he's trying to fly the flag of another ruler from my castles. Poor design.

The count is disputing that the current duke, is not the rightful duke. He wants someone else to be Duke, so he declares war against his liege - the duke. The new duke arrives on his success, who is also a king. You can not vassalise a king as a king, so the land leaves your realm. The same would happen if he was to inherit the title.

If you don't want him to win, kill him. Or maybe revoke the title in question (not sure you can do that, but you could try).
