Loic drafts a press release
Due to the delay in passing either the budget or the specific act authorizing the acquisition of the Interprovincial Highway System, the public comment period on the proposed extension of the system to Uxbridge has been extended for three months.
In the initial phase of the public comment period, there were questions regarding the differential in the cost per kilometer between the proposed acquisition of the Interprovincial Highway System and the cost of this new construction. The public is reminded that the proposed acquisition is at a price below construction cost, and that inflation has occurred since that construction and was allowed for in the projected costs. Please see the ECB reports for details on current inflation. The project costs also include right of way acquisition costs, a prudent contigency reserve, as well as the cost for construction of a major bridge over the River Conder.
