here i just though of the new model of HOI3 military during bath, anyway here to share my ideas.
NOTE: this is poorly organised due to the poor English of the post composer.
First of All, i would like to Customize the "divisions" we have, according to "New Economy Model for HOI3" Thread starter, which has some excellent ideas on HOI3 economy,
where every "parts" will be produced independently, like in Victoria.
while i want to stress that each model of units should be independent, say you stockpile 291 ju 87 B stuka and 321 Me109Emile fighters. 906 Panzer 4F2 and 200 Jadgpanthers.
Land divisions Makeup:
So, i would like to see that you actually make up your armoured divisions with your Panzer 2 and Armoured cars, or just use Panzer 3 + panzer 4 as support units, say, i want to make a armoured division with 100 panzer 3 , 50 panzer 2f and 20 panzer 4d.
for infantry divisions, you should be able to equip your divisions with different equipments you research,say the M1 garand, or the Springfield as a issued rifle? the 6 pounder AT Gun, or the 17 pounder?
each should give different combat effectiveness and different cost, also, you can choose to half fill your divisions or not, say, you might want 3 2000 men unit then a single 6000 soldier unit in some case. this could help small nations to fully exploit their potential.
Land Divisions Upgrade
the current upgrade system in HOI2 is way too simple and unrealistic, say, how could a G43 rifle suddenly be "upgraded" to MP44 without that you actually produce them? the upgrade thing should just be "replace" while you still get those G43s after you filling your divisions with those brand new MP44.
Same for Tanks, i don't see the possibilty to upgrade a panzer 2 to a King tiger in a armoured division.
but i would like to see that a panzer 2 could undergo a "upgrade" process and turn it to become a tank destroyer. but i would like to propose another theory again later...
Air Wing Customisation
the Current HOI2 way to imple Air wings is too simple, you just have either CAS, TAC, Intf, NAV. one should be able to say, assign stukas to their intf wings, assign their Me109 produced for ground Attack propose, or take the planes in your carrier out for some homeland defence... this makes "planes" actually a important "resources" you have.
The Armoured Unit/plane models makeup
so i would like to see that one is able to customize a model for their own nation, say, how thick the armour? slope armour? MG34 or MG42? 75mm High Velocity or low Velocity? one you selected the component you have researched and is enough to makeup a new model, say, a Tank with certain armour, gun, engine,you see the stats for your new model, and you click "create model" if you like it enough.
one should take choice seriously as i think this should have some IC to relocate to it for the experimental work, that means small nations could not afford too many of these kinds of project running while big nations could just have a few models researching. and this could prevent lame situation that Japan is suddenly researching Tanks in full power while she has mostly Aircraft factories and Naval Yards.
when the model is ready you should now be able to produce them, or upgrade your existing one to them if it's only simple conversion, say, a tank that use a same chassis should be inter-convertible with some IC spent on them.
Same should be used for planes, i see that you should choose to fit different kind of engine , armour, gun to your model of plane, say a poor nation would might like to produce a plane with weaker armour, but great firepower like the A6M2 Zero fighters. Or just play like the Soviets, use wood to construct Yak9 for saving cost.
