Midnight on the 5th but where?

This is my first thread. i have posted just a few posts.

I looked and i cant find this info. will the game be available for download on steam 12:01 am gmt 6/6/16
or in my case will i have to wait until midnight my time. in my case pacific standard time?

I feel like this is a silly question. however this is the first game i have ever preordered or owned on day one.

Probaly not as for one it would be in CET and wouldn't be at mid night because then it would require some one at work at that time which won't happen.

I think they released Stellaris about 16-18.00 (ish)CET (Central European Time). And thats probably the window you are looking at Gives them the opportunity to have a long nice release stream on Twitch

Me and a couple of friends have taken a day off from work, but if it's going to be released at 18:00 CET it's not helping. (I am in Europe).

If the idea is that Paradox wants to have people in the office during release time, I would expect a release at maybe 10? although I wish it would be at something like 05AM CET.

Can anyone confirm? I think it's quite important since the release is Monday and we have taken days off.

Most likely you are looking at end of afternoon release in Europe. PDX does a release stream starting around 12-13 CEST and will run till release (expecte similar as Stellaris so 17-19 CEST) after that will be streamed by lot more players

I'm not 100% certain, but I think the release time for steam Exclusive games depends more on valve's turning buttons on their servers, than on whatever time the development company may want to set. 18: CEST = 09:00 PST which is where valve is HQ'd.

A lot of games on steam seem to go active around that time, which is why i have that suspicion.

Since it's being released on 6th of June, an important date in the history of WW2, I would expect to be able to play and invade Normandy in the same time frame as it happened. (so release on the 5th, or the 6th early in the morning).

Early Allied success was aided by the confused German reaction. The first confirmation of a large-scale attack did not arrive until 2:15 am; that an invasion was in progress was not confirmed until 4:15. It was only at 6 am, when Normandy’s defenders saw the horizon obscured by an unbroken line of Allied ships, that all doubt was removed. Along nearly 100 kilometres of coast, Allied warships and aircraft pounded German defences. At 6:30, US soldiers went ashore by landing craft at Utah and Omaha beaches. An hour later, the British and Canadians arrived at the beaches of Gold, Juno and Sword.

If it does not happen, due to Valve people not being available, fine for me, I would just like to know ahead when I can play. Either I have to take a day off on Monday or Tuesday.. or wait til' Sunday. The only reason I have chosen Monday, it's the same as why they release it then: to invade France on D-Day and remember the day by playing Hearts of Iron.

I might reconsider to take a day off Tuesday.

I don't think anyone can confirm the release hour.

If you can, I suggest you move your day off to the 7th. That way, you will be able to play through the night of the 6th and afternoon of 7th
