Hi All

Who else here likes having lots of mid sized vassals?

I find they are incredably useful in wars... When war is decleared all I do is go and hunt the enemies main armies with my forces... And in the mean time my vassals seige up all their regions that I have cleared...

Usually by the time Ive finished chasing their main armies into total destruction a vast majority of their nation has been captured by my vassals (and therefore me lol)...

They work perfectly in this role... Not so much against the enemies field armies, but they allow me to concentrate on that while they capture away by themselves lol.

Me! Me!
I love mid sized vassal.

the only problem for them is when you start as non-western group, your vassals will be, generally non-western too, and they don't westernize too often...

I have to agree, and I do love "feeding" my vassal war subsidies and land to make them stronger. Ideally, I vassalise a beaten up province minor who has loads of cores and get them back for them through rebels or war. Byzantines/france/Sweden/Ottomans/England and the like. I absolutely love a naval power as a vassal too because they intercept all those pesky cogs for you.

I like having lots of vassals and demanding annexation from them all on the same day. It makes me smile when you annex three in one day :)

I never thought about it
Just took it for granted - one every ten years

Yeah I was surprised it worked the first time I did it. But if you annex like 2 or three at once, any other vassal you have will hate you. It's still worth it.

Did someone say vassals?

EU3_11.jpg

This is my Muscovy - Russia game, where I stopped grapping more land when I got beautiful borders. And just started creating nice looking countries in europe. Everything except France, Sicily And Tuscany is my vassals. If this game didnt stop the next day I would start carving up France and Italy.

Vassals are fun:D

(also they are all Orthodox:p)

I usually try to recreate historical countries or regions in one big vassal.
Depends on what scale, if I focus on europe I ll do region based, but once I get bored of that Ill make bigger guys. ( Aka, Italy, Scandinavia )

It's beautiful :O
I especially like the fact that you managed to get a Greece to appear and have that take that region.

I myself do like having lots of vassals but I usually can't be bothered to make them pretty or help them expand, at most I'll sponsors a few rebels for them or clear away rebels that are running around in the lands of my vassals.

I like having large vassals, but I don't like getting missions to annex them that don't give cores on everything. "Annex Savoy." And accept 3 instances of unlawful imperial territory? No thank you.

I love Vassals. In my current Britanny game, it's about 1430 and I've got the whole of Ireland vassalised. They've proved very useful in wars with England and France, who are both being carved up between me, Scotland and Burganday.

Is it a united Ireland?

Would someone please explain to me how to have large vassals? If you can't vassalize nations larger than 3 provinces, and if no one will take HRE soil you offer for free if they don't have cores on the territory, then how is the above even possible?

EDIT: I did recognize he may be playing on Heir only, but still, is this possible on 5.1?
