I stopped playing CkII same mounths ago, but when I tried again to play some days ago the game started to crash random or sometimes when I try to save, and appears this message:

As you have Windows 7 32bit, you may have the 32bit Windows memory problem. Try rolling back to 2.0.4 in the Steam beta tab; if that helps then do this Workaround:

1: Open Command Prompt (it's in Accessories in Vista)

2: Set it to be in Admin mode http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc947813(v=ws.10).aspx

3: Paste this in: bcdedit /set increaseuserva 2560

4: Restart


5: If you ever need to undo: BCDEdit /deletevalue increaseuserva

You should be looking to switch to 64bit Windows ASAP, as that will give you access to another 700mb of your system memory that is currently wasted.

Yes, but this is just as a test to check that you don't get this problem under that version, so you don't have to take it too seriously, you could run it in observe mode while you do something else if you like.

I did what you wrote in the previous post and now the game works just fine, I tested it all the day and now it's perfect, thank you very much!

By the way, what does the command that I wrote in the prompt?

32bit Windows only allows any app access to 2gb of memory at the most. We adjusted that to 2.5gb. Under 64bit Windows there's no such restriction.
