But keep in mind that not everyone likes to play that way, and some may even abhor to play that way. And pausing the game every month to ship people around with the REALLY BAD resettle dialogue isnt fun. Especially if you realize you are doing a one-banana job in a game:
So much this. It's super bad to work around POPs. Resettling POPs, finding suitable POP for resettlement (like those clerks), finding planets with unoccupied jobs( it show you only jobs available, not job types\strata needed), etc. And if you have more than one POP type it's ten time worse. Stellaris is now all about managing POPs and tools for it are horrible and non-existent.

Agreed. New system is pretty fun in the early game, but it stops being fun around mid game, and just gets annoying in the endgame. We need more development options, actual working sectors and better resettlement UI. Currently its juat annoying, and unless I pause the game while resettling pops, I usually have more excess drones by the time I'm done, simply because they grow so damn fast. However I must admit, playing hive mind does actually feel like playing hive mind, you constantly have to search new space for your drones, or else overpopulation gets so bad you just run out of space.
