I´m playing Victoria v.1.01, Grand Campaign, with difficulty set to hard/hard as Austria.
For some reason, "Metternichs faction" has so far (1871) won every single election since the beginning of the Game - even though that party`s deathdate, 1848, has long since passed! Allowing all political parties and enabeling voting rights according to wealth resulted in an overwhelming majority for the liberals among my population, but didnt stop the long expired "Metternichs faction" from winning one election after the other! Even changing the constitution to "democracy" wont stop him!! "Manually" changing the ruling party (by editing the textfile) only made that new party (no matter what party I chose) the inevitable victor of any upcoming elections! I thought this might be the result of Austria having a one-party system, but changing it to a multi-party system doesnt seem to have had any result... Maybe it has something to do with the fact, that in my campaign none of the 1848-related events for Austria have actually happened? [dont know why, by the way.... :)]
Dont get me wrong, I dont want to critisize just for critizisms sake, I really do love this game! Nevertheless, these broken elections for Austria (they seem to work fine for all the other, AI-controlled nations) are quite annoying...
