I was playing CiM today on the Tokyo map... everything seemed alright, until suddenly a 2 part metro station (eis_ois one) partially turned red. That didn't screw it up. Then, suddenly, 2 of my lines got disconnected... turns out an entire station has suddenly disappeared, trains on terminus platforms stopping halfway and it just doesn't feel right. I guess I'm gonna either have to move the station a few blocks or just leave my 2 busiest lines alone

While typing this I came up with the reason why... demolition... hmm. a simple building worth more than my metro? I guess this is one of the things needing to be improved in CiM2: actually dynamic cities...

Big cities with a working transit system should build around it, not on it.

The cities are growing all the time. Anything that you build will be demolished by the city.
Look at the news ticker, it will warn you before your structure will be demolished, you can also recognize areas that are about to change by the light-brown color in the mini-map.

uhh, imho this should NOT be changed for CiM2, it's a feature, not a bug. However the system that informs you about these changes should be improved. Would be stupid if a bus stop would be a reason for NOT building a new shopping center for instance, so i think it's a nice feature of the game.

While i agree that a bus or tram stop shouldn't be able to prevent a development, surely something on the scale of an underground metro station is another matter? I don't know exactly how its handled in CiM currently, but along with an improved notification system i would to see the player compensated when their infrastructure is demolished during city redevelopment/expansion (apologies if this is already the case).

Bus stops actually can't be able to do that when you're playing it vanilla. (unless you use bugged roads in Amsterdam). It only often happens to elevated metro and ground level metro. but I spend thousands on that station. (not that my giant fully legit +- 327.000 isn't enough to rebuild it), but it did kind of destroy line 1 & 2.
