Methinks we need a city journal/AAR/screenshot forum

Since I'm pretty certain a lot of us are interested in reading about other people's cities, the things people accomplish in them, the ongoing development of those cities and because most Paradox games have a dedicated AAR/Let's Play/screenshot/journal-like forum, wouldn't it be nice to have one for Cities: Skylines as well?

A dedicated sub-forum would not only help keeping the main forum organised, it would also make it easier spotting such threads among the multiple dozens posted every day and would perhaps encourage a few people to post. I know I don't want to clog up the main forum with my tales, but the screenshot thread on the other hand is too 'general' for such things, especially city journals.

Who is with me, soldiers? I mean citizens! I mean mayors!

My CIMS are with you Nice post - I agree a city journal/AAR subsection would be cool and would make CS fit better with the other Paradox games on the forum. People are doing some amazing things with their city designs so they should be able to show it off on here in an organized way.

I don't know if there is the call for it here. I recently tried to post a journal on my London map I'm building and had pretty much zero interest.

I don't think it's from lack of interest in your journal more than people not wanting to invest in trying to find it again. If they added a sub-forum to the top section, I think it would be filled with people wanting to post their cities in whatever form. Whether that's screenshots, videos, or journals, I'd be far more inclined to just go to that section and post / read / watch, then to have to search for it on here. That's just me, though.

That's a good point, however, as I stated on my original journal, I'd had over 600 views so that's a few hundred people who did find it yet only a couple bothered to comment. Maybe a dedicated forum would encourage some more interaction.

What's the best way to upload a screenshot apart from Steam Library? My Library is already full, and I can't upload any more screenshots, but I'd like to brag about my horrible cities.

You should be able to either link from Steam or just use the "Upload a File" button next to "Post Reply". That should do the trick.

I'd suggest Imgur. It's free and has no bandwidth limit.
