I bought Victoria II today via steam. I downloaded it, but cannot play it due to it freezing when it is 'initialising map.' I went to a dev's post and was linked to this: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?545-Victoria-2-Tech-Support . I tried to connect to it, but it did not work. I checked the My Games tab and there was a lock next to the Victoria II game cover. I clicked it and it said 'Password sent to the metaserver for game.' I tried to go through the link again, but it didn't work. What is happening?

Hi Leldy,

The metaservers actually have been shut down as there were too many issues. Unfortunately there is no way the game can be played over the metaservers anymore, however you can still play over LAN (and vpn) or by Direct IP.

If you confirm your account by (clicking the link on the e-mail the forum sent you), then register your game you will have access to the VIC 2 Multiplayer sub-forum which is a great place to organize games and get tips on setup.
