Now that is quite an impressive list of allies, Netherlands hase got. So what list of alternative targets for expansion has the Maori generall staff developed? Spanish Philippines may be? Or some of the South-East Asian minors rather?

Really difficult... the best guess would be Asian minors but hopes are that there may be some wars to swoop in and take whats left. Spain is under French control so thats off the table for now.

Edit: As I'm currently very busy, the next update will have to wait some time. Sorry about that.

Part 2 : Maori on the Brink of Madness

It early 1890 when the General Staff sat over a map of Colombia, considering different military scenarios. All of a sudden a messenger arrived with news from Argentina. For some years now Argentina had been an ally of New Zealand and a local power in South America as well. Chile and Bolivia had had no other option than to surrender to its military supremacy, resulting in a direct connection of Argentina and the Pacific coast.
Utterly displeased about such a loss, Chile engaged an alliance with Brazil to take revenge. The declaration of war reached Buenos Aires on December 26th 1889. Chile and Brazil stood against an alliance of Argentina and Colombia.
Several days later on January 2nd 1890 the Argentinian envoy arrived in Wellington and asked the Maori government to stand by its oath and honor the alliance.

XTnAw.png

Since the revolution in Colombia and Panama's fight for freedom had captured all of New Zealands attention there was much astonishment upon receiving the news. Nobody in the Maori Congress dared to utter a word until ol' Walker raised his voice in anger. Known as Michael R. Walker in his younger days, he was the last surviving founding father of the nation beeing, only 19 years of age upon his arrival in late 1835.
"What are ye waitin' for?" he spoke with a cracking, yet forcful voice. "We're being challenged by some gauchos from Brazil. Don't even think about attacking the Colombians! We're not some traitors who just wait to turn on their friends!" Indeed, there were more reasons to intervene in the conflict. Brazil was a close ally of the Netherlands, one of their most powerful apart from european countries. Now, without fearing an intervention, it would be the best option to mobilize against Brazil instead chewing up Colombia or senseless waiting for someone declaring war against Netherlands.
Diplomats from South America helped creating a approximate picture of the deployed troops

Very few information could be gathered about brazilian troops. No doubt, the main force was to be located somewhere far from the borders.
The only known troops was a small brigade in the tri-state area between Brazil, Argentina and Chile.

HT4r2.png

But it was no secret that they had accumulated a military might of considerable size.

yzYye.png

Meanwhile a New Zealand Expeditionary Battalion under command of Hubert Churchill had been gathered in Auckland, ready to be shipped across the Pacific.
With chilean forces occupied in heavy fighting, said Exped. Battalion managed to seize their capital Santiago within a few months into the war. Seemingly the Argentinians could hold themselves against Chile without greater problems. So after capturing Santiago, the NZ troops mached northwards to hold the border against brazilian forces. Sadly though, the Argentinians were not able to hold their position and were on the verge of losing the battle. Disgruntled NZ troops turned south and reinforced the shaken allies.

dIQuF.png

lqvQB.png

Chilean moral failed to recover from this defeat, although their losses were not devastatingly high. Still, they sued for white peace and New Zealand gladly accepted. Beating down Brazil was the primary goal, after all.

y5yxM.png

Meanwhile Brazilian warships took despicable measures against innocent civil NZ merchants. This only fueled the soldiers anger and fighting spirit more.

HxK7q.png

The NZ Navy was still a novice to seabattles but they fought bravely to keep Brazilian ships at bay.

7b3zh.png

Nevertheless their army had already captured large parts of Northern Argentina while the allied forces were bound in the south, fighting Chile. After recovering briefly Argentinan and Maori forces split up to fight both enemy armies which was done under considerable casualties. In September a second NZ Expeditionary Army was sent to the Atlantic by Ship, to make a daring attack on the Brazilian Capital. Unbeknownst to them the enemy had not sent all troops to the front. Rio de Janeiro was full of military personnel searching after rebels and well defended.
On this fateful September 26th the 2nd NZ Exped. Battalion was annihilated in the streets of Rio, caught between rebels, civilians and soldiers, without any possibility of retreat. People all over Nea Zealand mourned the loss of thousands of brave soldiers, sacrificed to the inexperienced leadership that was the NZ High Command.

daO9Z.png

Said High Command only found solace in Colombian troops marching southern across the Brazilian border to finally enter the fight that was raging almost two years already. Still they were far to inferior to actually make a difference.

JshPN.png

Piece by piece conquered Argentinian territory was liberated until Brazil started a second offensive against the Maori troops. Their leaders were, again, advanced too ambitiously and recklessly when the enemy trapped them to commence a second massacre. It seemed almost as Brazil could hold their ground against two enemy forces. Soldiers were recruited in all parts of New Zealands colonies to fill up the emptied ranks. Losing the war against this arrogant Secondary Power was not an option for Nation considered Great Power. It had to be avoided at all costs!

JL3Im.png

1rtH9.png

44a3I.png

The allied troops endured great losses over a total of five years of war when finally the enemy was near to exhaustion.

mqqMX.png

After 5 years of continuous bloodshed Brazil was worn down and stripped of soldiers, but they had taken an equally huge toll from Argentina and New Zealand. Upon this dearly purchased victory the Argentinians demanded the wide Mato Grosso Territory as their prize. Months or even years of occupation are ahead of the remaining soldiers to raise up the warscore high anough to force Brazil into giving in to Argentinians arrogant demands.
Not many people in New Zealand supported the ongoing occupation of Brazil. Too long had their fathers and brothers been missed at home. Eventually, and only under great effort were the masses kept calm and reassured that no more Maori would lose his life on Brazilian soil. Only the complete occupation of this vast territory and thereby draconian punishment before the eyes of the world would be remotely sufficient to honor the sacrifice of tens of thousands.
There is still much to learn for the Maori nation, even though they call themselves a Great Power. It took a painful experience to learn that lesson.

On a side note

Hi again guys, firstly I want to apologize for this weaker (in writing and playing) part of chapter 6. The last weeks have been hugely packed since I moved to the other side of the world for some time. Way closer to the Maori Empire :D
I consider this part weak because its way harder to write about war when the war itself is rather boring and one forgets to take track of all the brigades movements. Also I noticed a certain drift in my style of writing to be less detailed or personal, respectively. I'll try to change that back to be more coherent to the first chapters.

Great to see you back together with your Maori AAR, which is quite a unique - and therefore very interesting project.
Thank you very much. I'm glad, you didn't left the aar while I was busy. The happier I am to deliver a new update!

Yes, thanks a lot. It went better than expected. In fact one of the reasons I started this was to relax and distract me from the stress of organizing :)
Surely not the best move to commit to an aar while preparing for such a thing, but I couldn't resist.

Chapter Seven - Mildly Mispleased Maori (1896 - 1906)

As the year 1896 AD came upon the world, Maori and Argentinian Troops marched northwards into unknown Brazil territory. While the latter began to secure the lands immediately behind the border, Maori rushed to seize Rio and the "Mato Grosso"-Territory as soon as possible.
To expedite the process the New Zealand garrison "Panama Canal Guards" moved through Columbia to capture northern Parts of Brazil to finally unite with the Mato Grosso occupation force. The 9000 men strong brigade quickly passed Colombian villages full of Gran-Colombian Nationalists to reach the Brazilian in late January.

Meanwhile the main occupation force lost contact with its Argentinian allies. Scouts sent out to their las known positions returned only to bring bad news: all Argentina was in uprising and their army already left position in Southern Brazil to fight the revolution.

AgNUJ.png

The Army High Command realized that time was extremely precious and urged their men to advance quickly and seize as much territory as they could in those days. Only two weeks later happened what they had feared so much. Armed Brazil rebels revolted in Brazil, knowing full well the state of anarchy all over the country. The race against time entered its most desperate state. The occupied territory had to be not only expanded but also defended against rebellious forces.

2kxSJ.jpg

One of the scouting units far up north reported a completely unexpected sight. Dutch soldiers had, in fact, crossed the border to Brazil and pursued rebels on their own while guarding the last operating boots camps in Brazil. The New Zealand government, furious over such activities, condemned the Netherlands and closed down their ambassy in Amsterdam, effective immediately.

VcYbl.jpg

When the Maori embassador arrived back in Welligton, accompanied by his staff and several blonde female "defectors", he brought shocking news: all of the old Europe was in flames! The 3rd Franco-Prussian was devastating large parts of Prussia when suddenly Austria saw their chance to claim their long lost territory in Bohemia and Moravia back from the NGF. More bad news arrived from South America: Chile had, after five years of regrouping and reformation, declared the 2nd Liberation of Argentinian Atacama while the first one was still officially ongoing.

NBdm8.png

And, to top it all, a newly formed Brazilian milita appeared out of nowhere to claim their land back. Even though NZ's government had received numerous pleads for a white peace, the Brazilians never agreed on seceding the Mato Grosso. Too few of territory had been seized until now. Not even reparations or a humble humiliation could find acceptance amoung the Brazilian envoys.

leBdK.jpg

Above all this, a continuation of the war seemed just insane anymore. Only a handful argued that, after more than 6 years of war, too many had died to justify a white peace. But the vast majority demanded an ending of the nonsensical hostilities. After all New Zealand had nothing to win in Brazil. Neither reparations nor humiliation was to be accepted by the Brazil who continuously regained strength.
Surely, New Zealand could ship all its soldiers to America, could even mobilize farmers and workers throughout the Pacific Union, but for what? They were not defeated in terms of military strength but in terms of common sense.

And so, in the summer of 1897 after more than seven years of war, the Brazilian and Maori High Commands met at Rio. There they congratulated each other on the tremendous fight they had put up, joked about the silly Argentinians and Chileans who were invading each other again and sipped a lovely 5'o clock Colombian coffee before returning to their duties.
The joined troops of Exped. Forces and Panama Canal Guards marched northwards, sneaked past the Gran-Colombian Nationalists again and, in winter 1897 arrived in Panama where the reinforced remains of the Grand NZ Navy waited to ship most of them back home. For some reason the Guards and some Siamese soldiers agreed to exchanges each others duties. The Guards, happy to not see a canal for the foreseeable future travelled to Brunei while the new Siamese Guards of the Panama Canal enjoyed their peaceful tasks of operating locks and collecting custom duties.

N6EBY.png

AgNUJ.png

Just before the old century was about to close, the USA and New Zealand both reached new national records of immigration. People were fleeing in masses from the wartorn europe and Spain had just another revolution coming to shake off French occupation.

Ma583.png

VGxBr.png

The glorious year of 1900 started with a census in the Pacific Union. From Siam in the North over Brunei, New Zealand and to the remotest Pacific atolls 12.5 Million people lived under the banner of the Southern Cross. Roughly 3 Million of whom were adult males.
Every territory, except Brunei and Siam had been granted Statehood. The latter two were, after all, only formally under Maori rule to profit from their technology and libertarian spirit.
Numerous Hakas were held.

Sofvk.png

Shortly after the new year had begun, New Zealand entered the Great War to extend it into a global conflict! Finally the chance to fight the Netherlands directly (under the protection of rapidly advancing British and Protuguese Soldiers) had come.

wSl7w.png

Two weeks later, while the declaration of wargoals was still reviewed by the parliament and troops were embarking their transports to Dutch Java, news came that the Netherlands had already surrendered. Thereafter the victory parade in Wellington was purely formal and dispersed quickly to catch that weekends Rugby Championship quarter finals.
After all this misfortune and misleading in the military field, New Zealand officially decided to abdicate its militarism for a while in favor of pursuing a far more peaceful course. So peaceful in fact, that Buddha statues from Siam became bestsellers in all New Zealand. Dai Nam was immensely impressed by this new peaceful attitude, so much to apply for a benefitted relationship to the Pacific Union.

jy5mL.png

News from the wars in Europe did not reach New Zealand for it was too peaceful to publish such violent news in their gazettes. Merely some brief articles about 'differences of opinions' with accompanying 'variations in territorial distributions' were to be read in the international news columns.
The NGF had lost in every conflict: France new ruled the Rheinland, Austria managed to reclaim Bohemia and Moravia, Russia conquered Ostpreussen and finally Italy erected a baltic exclave in Pommern. The latter was deeply despised by Austria, only their emperor Franz-Joseph knew why, and so it was inevitable to contend Italy in that matter. As outrageous the german occupation of Bohemia was, it obviously did not deserve to loose Pommern. Well... at least not to Italy.

ms5E7.jpg

oK5KD.png

Meanwhile the scientific fields flourished in New Zealand: two Nobel Prizes went to outstanding Maori authorities. The first one in chemistry honored the efforts for finding a new peaceful use of TNT. A year later the prize for literature was received by Col. James T. Ipling for his modern historical novel "Celebrating White Peace in Rio - Carnival as alternative form of victory parades"

And unbeknownst to the world a remote island, guided by an ominous leader, lived the revolución to its fullest.

Chapter Eight - Maori Meddling in Middle (And) East (1906 - 1916)

In the year 1906 anno domini New Zealand found itself among the technologically most developed nations. Its universities made astonishing progress in all major research fields. Not only did this benefit and restore New Zealands reputation as Great Power and sovereign of the Pacific. But also Maori economy experienced a boom by delivering high quality products all over the world.

Sz4N6.png

Naturally scientific progress at this high pace took its toll now and then, but that was a fairly affordable price for its numerous positive aspects.

ShPoZ.png

After all their probable death was not in vain, for they had proven without a doubt that cannibals belong to the very dangerous kind.

Decades of research, engineering and craftsmanship culminated in late 1906 when the first Dreadnought-Class battleship in the southern hemisphere left Auckland's docks! The "NZS Hooray" commenced her maiden voyage heading towards the Philippines for conducting a simple reconnaissance mission. Since the outgoing 19th century, Philippine nationalists had a tight grab on the island without being able to take the last step into independence. The battle ship's imposing shape should remind both, Spain and the Pilippine rebels of that New Zealand always had a word in pacific affairs of any kind.

a9IDt.png

The Maori secretly supported the Philippine cause, sadly though they were unable to further the process themselves. Spain, still a mere puppet of France was far away but a threat nevertheless. Especially since the turn of the century they profitted from French protection, by developing undisturbed while still many left the country for America and New Zealand. The Spanish immigrants kept Maoris informed about the progress in Iberia.
For a short time Portugal found itself in New Zealands sphere of influence, providing additional information about events in Europe. Italy had suffered a lot under the Austrian aggression to acquire Italian Pommern. From the ruins of Rome emerged a new ideology, radical for one and revolutionary in its ideas. It spread fast over the continent and Italian immigrants delivered its message even to the other side of the world. Thus, 1907 saw the formation of New Zealands Fascist Party. At first Maori were cautious towards this very small minorty who uttered such radical ideas.

QqVEp.png

On a more joyful note, years of intense cooperational efforts lead to the Cuban-Maori Collaboration Agreement. Ever since they seceded from Spain, Cuba has always been a friendly and trustworthy partner for Maori tobacco manufactures. As expected, Cuba sent a ship load of best Havanna cigars to celebrate with their friends, while receiving finest tropical wood from New Zealands Siamese colony for fabricating cigar boxes of unmatched quality.
Shortly after the festivities commenced, brave adventurers from Wellington sailed southwards to conquer the last white spot on the world maps: Antarctica. Rumors of rich deposits of ice cube veins scattered across the South Pole circulated all over the nation. If New Zealand were to control these resources, their restaurants, bars and pubs would have secure ice cube supplies for centuries.

Indeed, the new century had finally reached New Zealand; a century of luxury and enlightenment it promised to be.

JdfSe.png

dF43X.png

Several days later when a cheerful minister president opened his mailbox he found a letter from Teheran. Abu Dhabi had denied New Zealandian archeologists and diplomats to enter their territory. Insulted and violently rejected, said Maori had sought a temporary stay in neighboring Persia.
The NZS Hooray was equipped for an overseas journey and sent forth to the Gulf of Persia to persuade the desert sons of New Zealands far reaching might.

fD2ep.png

While Maori troops paraded through Bahrain and Dubai they noticed columns of smoke on the horizon. Further reconnaissance revealed that Abu Dhabi's neighbor, the Sultanate of Nejd, had sunk into civil war. Reactionary rebels threatened the capital Riyadh and its proximity. While the commanding officer of the newly formed Maori Desert Brigades still rested in Dubai, while waiting for the peace treaty to be signed, his troops were already marching into the deserts of Nejd. No peace loving and open minded Maori could let this nonsensical bloodbath continue without intervening for the good of all. Quickly the rebels as well as his sultan's brigade were "pacified" and a goverment instated, modeled just after Maori exemplar. But for New Zealand was too far away to guide the new administrative actively, it was decided to train and educate trustworthy locals to watch and advise the sultan. Saved from political die-hard reactionaries, Nejd's progress was ensured under the protection of New Zealand.

yHScU.png

Eventually the NZS Hooray headed home and New Zealand returned to its peaceful existence while maintaining a watchful eye on world politics. News came that Northern Germany had clobbered Austria out of Great-Power-hood, when suddenly and unexpectedly the brave Kingdom of Serbia rose to reclaim long lost parts of its motherland.

P6FYq.png

In 1910 reunification with Slavonia was completed. Thousands and thousands of people jubilated in the streets of Belgrade.

jcluG.png

More unexpected news came from Northern Asia. The Chinese Empire had united all its substates and formed a gigantic empire on the verge of becoming a Great Power. But only a month after seeking an alliance with New Zealand, China revealed its true intentions!

Q7pKJ.png

6bBpB.png

A rebellion wrought havoc among western settlers, missionaries and merchants. Hundreds of innocent Maori, lured into the country by fake promises, had been slaughtered and massacred. By god, there was only one appropriate answer to this behavior! Not even the news of a tremendous success in the eternal ice plains of the South Pole could lighten the Maori faces as the NZS Hooray left Wellington Harbor heading towards Bejing. The Maori gastronomy had to wait until this matter was resolved.

UcdGo.png

When New Zealands colonial troops had gathered and prepared for battle in northern Luang Prabang, Russia had already invaded China from Siberia to exercise punishment in the same manner.

Even though China's military score jumped from 600 to whopping 2600 upon mobilization, virtually making it a Great Power overnight, their troops were no match for the technologically versed Maori and likewise mobilized Russians. The NZS Hooray took on whole Chinese fleets at once without losing ground and destroyed their hopes of ever setting sail past the coast of Dai Nam again.

oN1IR.png

0KtDr.jpg

It was Russia whom recalled from China first. Beijing had experienced the violent rule of cossack occupation and succumbed to their territorial as well as political demands. After the cossacs rode back to Siberia the Maori took it on themselves to pacify and demilitarize large parts of the vast empire. Meanwhile China's military, economical and prestigeous value plummeted into abyssal dephts. When New Zealands troops reached Beijing, they celebrated a trementdous victory. Three wargoals had been had been stated to redeem the Emperor's delusions of grandeur. If it weren't for the suspicious eyes of the world, they would even have acquired a connection to the coastal regions of Southern China.

lCkI6.jpg

In fact, the international stage grew more suspicious of New Zealand - too quick they had changeed from self proclaimed pacifism to ferocious militarism in the face of mere provocation. Too eager they were to prove not to be the wishy washy playboys that the shameful white peace of Rio made them look like. But the seed was planted nevertheless and unrest grew inside the unsteady nation. While international mistrust towards New Zealand

W3OeB.png

xfR2R.png

Albeit, Nejd profited from its new status as New Zealand's subordinate. Many literate Maori volunteered to bring civilization into the middle eastern desert, maybe out of uncertainty towards their homeland's future. As well as the apathic USA. Ever since the CSA was fully acknowledged by the majority of the civilised world, its northern counterpart became more and more invisible on the international stage. Almost as if the Manifest Destiny never manifested, they isolated themselves from the world, not even hostile towards Mexico anymore, which still held many U.S. core territories in the west and south west.

Still, or rather because of this, thousands of immigrants reached Ellis Island every month ... as always.

Meanwhile back in Europe: Spain managed the unthinkable and emancipated from France by taking advantage of that power vacuum, which was torn open by falling Austria and China. France now, struck back on Serbia, promptly ending their second war against Austria-Hungary with a decisive victory.

Still, the question of the Philippines remained unsolved. Quite the opposite: it became more urgent than ever...

This AAR is awesome.

Thank you very much, I try my best :)

Nice aar! could we see some world pics? (p.s. have the americans at least captured the rest of idaho?)

Thank you sir.
The following update does briefly concern America, so that should be covered. If you can wait that long, I'll definitely incorporate a world map in the 10th and last chapter. If not, just give me a quick hint and I'll post a map of 1926 (my current savegame).

Chapter Nine - Maori Making Friends (1916 - 1926)

In the beginning of 1916 New Zealand faced a dangerously high infamy (24.77) amoung the other Great Powers. By occupying vast territories in China's South, Maori not only seized new industrialized ground, but first and foremost incredible masses of human resources. The Government in Wellington now ruled over a populace of several million people! Europe and North America grew suspicious of the emerging force west of the Pacific.

Also, the rising fascism in the birth nation of open-mindedness gave reasons to be concerned. But Wellington was not willing to abdicate its agressive liberalism. All rebels were pacified with no further ado.

rdh0z.png

What they did not see were the run-down factories of Yunnan and Guangxi, in dire need of modernization. The freshly arriving Maori engineers immediately got to work and devised plans for a huge overhaul of the railway transportation system. The capitalists analyzed the economic situation and shut down unprofitable factories while commissioning new ones for high technological goods. Many thousands of chinese craftsmen were unemployed for a long time and gained new hope upon the newly arriving businesses.

fsIyf.png

So, for years to come New Zealand would have to keep a low profile on the international stage to not give the competing Great Powers any reason for a forceful containment.
Nevertheless, the plans for even more expansion already laid on the government's desk - albeit of purely diplomatic nature. Recently Cuba's socialist regime was toppled and replaced by a burgeois dictatorship, to the very dismay of the local tobacco industry.
The Maori-Cuban trade agreement was null and void without the socialists in power and thus Cuba had to be reintegrated into the Sphere of New Zealand.

Also much effort was put into erecting a permanent embassy in Rio de Janeiro and Santiago de Chile. Too long lasted the conflicts in South America now. The only and most peaceful way of finally ending the pointless wars would be to heavily influence all parties and demonstrate New Zealands unquestionable predominance in Southern America.

It was in mid 1918 when New Zealands third NZDP (New Zealand Development Program) was launched.

YWTiR.png

The Labour party was given another year to actively improve some key factors of New Zealandian economy. Mainly the Chinese provinces required lots of upgrades that the capitalists alone were unable to provide at the required precision.
Unlike the last times this NZDP was also used for far reaching international investments. Many railroads in befriended nations received further development with the help of Maori fundings, let alone the many new factories under Maori patronage that emerged in various parts of the globe.

CkOZ9.png

Finally in 1920 happened what had been hoped by so many: the Philippines broke free from their spanish overlords and declared to be an independent and sovereing nation from now on.

vYAwP.png

This event was more than welcomed by many Maori. Not only had a competing Great Power lost huge parts of its influence in the Pacific theatre, but also a new potential ally had emerged out of nowhere. And a not so weak one at that...

ecdcZ.png

One might only imagine what would have happened if they had seceded some time earlier

The government in Wellington took this opportunity to openly support the Philippine independence and denounce Spains inhumane slave policies. Of course Madrid was highly displeased upon the news but they had concerns for more serious.

kERoH.png

To celebrate its years in peace and to further impress potential allies around the world, New Zealand decided to host a colonial exposition. Precious goods and treasuries from Malaysia, Siam, China and Oceania were gathered to showcase the nations wealth and glory.

MjOPA.png

Glorious indeed it was!

6CyW9.png

Few nations on earth were held in such high regard as the Pacific Union. The greatest parts of the Pacific were under control of New Zealand. As such it was almost immediately that the government now took notice of an interesting event on the other side of the ocean: Mexico now called itself an empire. And rightly so: from 1836 they were uncontested in their territorial integrity in Northern America. Sadly though they were still considered a mere Secondary Power. Also an outright shame was the USA blocking every attempt to establish diplomatic relations with the empire.

[Side note: seriously why does the ai maintain 100 diplomatic points without sphereing them? Its not like they would attack them anytime soon.]

But nevertheless it may be seen as a symbolic act, or not, that the carthographers depict Mexico in almost the same color as our beloved nation.

7l2WT.png

In the fading last days of 1926, New Zealand had increased its diplomatic influence by almost a magnitude. Only the United Kingdom held more countries in its sphere than than New Zealand. All independent nations in Southern America maintained strong relations with it, joined by Cuba in the Caribbean Sea, Johore and Dai Nam in Malaysia and the resource-rich Korea in North Eastern Asia. Very soon also the Philippines would join their sphere uncontested as the newest valuable member of the Pacific Union.

Great update. I must say, I'm really impressed at how far you've gone with this. By all accounts, NZ starts off quite weak, so seeing it take part of civilized China is really quite amazing. Bravo!

One might only imagine what would have happened if they had seceded some time earlier

Thanks for the shout out .

My pleasure :) It really woke my interest for that certain archipelago.

Though I have to give Russia credit for beating up China. They slaughtered so many of them at the northern border that I had a relatively easy time down south.
But still I'm somewhat proud of that brave Dreadnaught ^^

Great AR! It's awesome to see a free New Zealand on here, makes me want to edit the game files to play a New Zealand where I can go off to war on my own! Can't wait for more!

I do have one question though, how did your literacy rate start at 10.0% whenever I play as NZ the literacy rate is 0 and it doesn't change.

I might have missed a detail here, but you don't have to use mods to play as them. Just play as the UK, release them, and click "play as".
