Merged - Ordering CK Directly from Paradox - question thread

I tried to preorder CK, but after introducing all neccesary fields, the web says I am not using a 3D protected card and will be redirected to a traditional payment site or something like that. The point is that only a white screen appears. I don't know if I have preordered CK, and if so, how many CK have I preordered?

I am using mastercard, and my e-mail is bonela*nospam*@ieee.org

I'm looking into everything that might cause an order problem. One thing I figured so far is that you cannot use letters outside the a-z span in the "name on card" field. This has caused some errors in ordering. We'll put together an FAQ for the shop as soon as someone has got time for it...

I'm a bit concerned on the same thing too, after Visa verification the e-butik screen went white, and I haven't got a mail Well, I mailed to Frederik to get info on should I order it again.

Me too I also got a blank screen so I did the process again - turns out I ordered twice as I got 2 confirmations. However Fredrik is such a nice guy that he canceled on of my orders within minutes of me asking him to do that..

yup - you should get an e-mail titled "order" from fredrik.l AT paradox-entertainment.com - I suggest maybe you e-mail him to ask if you order has gone through..

According to the site, the VAT is included in the $45-50 you're already paying.

If that's true, then non-EU residents should be able to apply for a refund of the VAT. It's not the most highly publicized thing in the world, but non-EU residents can apply for a refund of the VAT they paid on almost all of their purchases while they were in the EU. Not sure exactly how it works in this case, but the place to start looking would be:

which seems to indicate that VAT should not be included in the first place for adresses outside the EU.)

Just to note that Fredrik is the man. I had problems with my cards as I have an apostrophe in my surname. The order was processed without a problem once I left out the said offending symbol and used A-Z.

Anywho, 4 countries in Scandinavia? Is Finland counted part of Scandinavia? Considering the ugric language is related to the Ugro-Altai language group, and that Finland isn't really part of the peninsular, who else considers Finland as part of the Scand?

No, Finland IS NOT a part of Scandinavia.

From encyclopedia: (Translated Fin->Eng):
"Scandinavia is a geographical area located in Northern Europe, which includes Norway, Denmark and Sweden. Sometimes also Nordic countries are also called with this name, but that isn't completely accurate as Finland and Iceland aren't part of Scandinavia."

As a side note I could say that Finland forms its own geographical area, Fennia. Fenno-Scandia is a combination of these two.

Hope this is clear now and forever. I don't want to be equated to Swedes anymore...



And then to the topic:
Would it be possible to order CK in C.o.D? (Cash on Delivery) It doesn't cost anymore than a normal shipment (as receiver of the package pays all the shipping costs.) And it is certainly possible and very easy as it doesn't require any special arrangements because I live in Finland (The Nordic synergy and EU-integration do help a lot). I'd appreciate response to this question, thank you)

EDIT: Just found out that nowadays I can use my Visa Electron for web payments (Verified by Visa), so I think I'll try to use that then. But it would be still interesting to know if CoD is possible if my Visa doesn't work.

And how is it with scandinavic ä's and ö's when it comes to filling personal information in your order form? How do I write ie. "Grundström" to make the system recognize me? Someone mentioned that theres problems with it earlier in this thread.

OK, I found the problem with ordering the game. When I try to process my application for CK purchase I get messige that my card is not part of that Visa secure thing (which you can go to by clicking on the icon that is on the bottom of the screen). So I did go to that nice Visa secure thingy and typed my card #. What happen you ask? It told me that my bank that issued my visa card is not a member of the Visa secure thingy... boomer... So, I have no whay to buy the game as my bank it too primitive.... :wacko:

I am trying to preorder CK. The first time everything seemed to go well until I got the "processing" message and then a blank white screen. I waited for an email for confirmation, but none came.

So I tried it again. Now I get that "not a 3D protected card" message, even though my card has Visa Verified activated (didn't give me this message the first time). After clicking on continue, I go to a white screen that barfs a Javascript error.

Is anyone else getting this problem?

I emailed info@paradoxplaza.com, and I got a reply saying that I should post my question in the forum. So here I am.

Help? I would really like to order a copy.

Hi, i tried to order CK from paradox, but my Visa and Mastercard bank cards do not have those certified programs, and I didnt saw the lock in the bottom of the internet explorer window that shows you are in a security site (my IE blocked some cockies from Paradox, but even when I ordered it to let the coockies in peace, it doesnt show the lock).
