I have two separate army corps in a sector; how do I merge them? For ports (and I assume air bases) there is a merge option. But I don't see how to do it for ground units.

And speaking of that merge for fleets, how do I select what gets merged? Right now it picks for me and inevitably totally messes up what I want to do.

Thanks!

You can't merge them if one of them is moving, or recovering from an attack or being unloaded from a ship (indicated by the little 3 red arrows).
Naval and air units must be stationary as well.
You can't perform reorganization or merger of air units unless their total air division count is at most 4 (you can change this in misc.txt).
You can only perform reorganization if you've selected 2 units, but merger should work for any number, so long as they're all in the same province and not moving/recovering.

Drag-click on the stack of counters (or on the sprite) which sits on the province, try to be careful to avoid stacks in neighboring provinces. Or, click normally to select one unit and shift click to get more units from the same province (once for each). You can deselect unwanted corps by control-clicking them on the left bar, but unless you have a new and sensitive keyboard, be sure to squeeze forcefully on CTRL.

Naval units are the same, except that if they're in port you have to drag a box over the harbour to select everything, or shift-click on it to select additional units.

For air units, off the top of my head, you have to click on the blue airbase icon first, THEN shift click or drag a box over where the plane or air counter appears, NOT the base. Could be wrong here though, I don't have the opened game.

By dragging a box around the units and then using Shift-click to DEselect some of them I managed to be able to get the ones I want. When there are air and ground units it is still difficult to get the right ones, though.

you cant merge air units if there are more then 4 of them in a province.

Sure you can, if you deselect the excess air units until there are only 2-4 divisions left.

Select a unit of the type in question (a naval unit or an air unit), then hold shift and drag-select the area; this will select all units of that type in the area. Drag-selecting alone will always prefer ground units and therefore ignore air and naval units if any ground units are present.
Once you've selected all the units this way, you can deselect and merge/reorganize them as you would ground units.
