Since you've made it possible to modernise ships (although not very realistic) to simplify the gameplay a bit, I've been thinking - why don't you change mercenaries a bit?

It's kinda annoying to have the mercenaries of the different type than yours, and it is insanely annoying to upgrade the mercenaries after teching up. Can't you just bound the merc units to your active units? It would've been so much less bothersome to play as a mercenary-heavy country and it would improve the usefullness of the mercenaries quite a bit

maybe just add "upgrade all possible" for merc as well? The mercenary poll is too important to ignore it by auto-upgrading.
