Can you imagine a world in which you played the existing game (economy, UI, etc) but when you raise armies you could move them around the map and deploy them to fronts?….How many people would be playing this game today. I bet it would be ten times as popular.
If that is true, than I see this becoming quite popular once its ready...

I know that a mod is not game and IR not Vic3, but out of the other GSGs IR seems to have most in common (e.g. individual pops), while it features a "classic" warfare system. Imperatrix Vicctoria is quite ambitioned in how it builts on IRs foundations - just see here a single screenshot of the plans for the economy/industry system:
Also, currently IR is in the process of getting an official maintenance patch and while that doesnt mean that Paradox will resume development, it means that certain bugs get ironed out (like the too restrictive tag number limitation), which will be a further boon especially for those kind of modding projects.
