However, what worries me is that I don't feel like I have enough influence, and strategy in the wrong places.
And same with military, you might not get enough clerks or clerical-educational workers because the appeal and pay of an officer's commission might be more tempting to a POP, and farmer-labourer POPs might be more attracted to soldier's life than a craftsman.
Only thing I really miss is the negotiation with other nations. Buying blueprints to impove techspeed would be nice, buying troops also (if there are nations with superior technology), maybe not territory as it was used as an exploit.
Also, weren't Aristocrats stagnate by this time? Perhaps they are the cause for the lack of clergy after all.
