A very important thing is that should be added in the full version some icon like the flag in europa universalis to see better your army in the map when you zoom out, is very difficult follow a war without this.

This is a minor problem for me, as well. Unfortunately, any fix will only really be in the 1.02 patch at the earliest. Learn to click on provinces! You get far more information that way.

I saw many wars during my playthrough, including an epic Prussia-Austria bash, a UK-China stalemate, French and Spanish conquests in North Africa, the UK conquest of Punjab, the Colombian invasion of Brazil....

I had most of those happen, except instead of UK vs China there was an epic Russia+Spain+allies vs China+Japan showdown

one thing i miss from vicky1 was when you clicked on a province, it would highlight the entire state first, and one more click would highlight the province. This made it easier to see the state's pop and factories, among other things.

I do miss it too we don't feel the states like we did with Vicky I now

Haven't played the demo yet, but I am somewhat frightened by the senseless wars people seem to be reporting. May I ask how things are going for everyone in terms of wars?

I just Finished my first play through the demo (claimed all the us territories, researched romanticism, declared manifest destiny, took all mexican holdinghs in modern day america, built the panama canal, and almost finished the ACW (had passed the emancipation proclamation, probably 80% occupied)), and I loved it. I think this is the first paradox game that I've wanted to play at or around minimum speed to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

My only possible complaint: I watched my population pretty frequently, and I NEVER saw an increase in my clergy, and I spent almost the entire game funding my clergy at 100%. What worried me was that whenever I checked my national increase/decrease of clergy, I was loosing something like 100 clergymen a day. was my loss of clergy influenced by something other than how much I was funding, or is this something of a bug? (as a side note, my beaurocrats were funded around 70-80% all game, and they WERE increasing at a reasonable rate).

Edit: oh right, 1 other thing, I pushed ideological thought as my second tech because it triggers a lot of plurality increasing inventions (and plurality gives you +5% research per point). The oddity with that was, america reads as having the "conservative" (-5% plurality) inventions already invented (they show as a green lightbulb instead of a grey one), but after finishing the tech, they're still added to the possible inventions list with a 0% chance of being invented.... only they still end up getting invented.

I had the exact same clergy problem... I figured, that maybe, I was funding other things too much so I set bureaucrats, soldiers to 35%. Still decreased... rather rapidly.

That slider works in concert with the tax sliders as well as being potentially influenced by National Focus. There are probably other influences as well, I just haven't pinned them down yet. ;)

I saw:

China vs Kokand
Spain vs Morocco
Egypt vs Ottomans
Ottomans vs Tripoli
Portugal vs Oman
Brazil vs Bolivia
France vs Prussia (triggered by a decision, I think)

This was within the first three years of gameplay. Definitely needs looking at.

I mean AI v. AI wars.

Me too. ;)

Also, I can report a minor bug.

When building a regiment in a coastal province, and then queuing a ship to be built in the same province, the icon to indicate construction doesn't change to the ship construction one.

http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/7128/v24.png

What I did was tell Lewiston and Concord to build infantry, and then when they were almost done I ordered some Man O' Wars from the military construction page. When the infantry was done building, the icon remained.

All seems well. Pretty fun. :D

SE Asia is an absolute war zone.

Siam beat the crap out of Dai Nam and Cambodia. They ended up annexing half of Dai Nam. Then they got into a war with Burma and the UK jumped in. Needless to say, Siam lost badly. Siam then also lost a war with Johore. Good times. I can't wait to play Siam. :D

That may be, I certainly saw clergy growth in New York once I bit the bullet and spent one of my precious national focus points on them there. Not sure about the taxes bit though, I was seeing bureaucrat growth, and I assume that, all other things equal, they're just as likely to promote as clergy...
