I have orderd from you guys before (ordering many books in the past)
currently I am intrested in pre-ordering a computer game from amazon
its called "Victoria 2"... The problem is that the game is being released on august 13th yet you guys have it listed as being released on the 22nd.
I have contacted the game company and they have said that they have told all retailers/distributers that the recommended release is august 13th and that any differant release date is because of the retailers chooseing.

Wither it be by error or by choice for the August 22nd release, if Amazon moved the release date of the game to august 13th i would make my pre-order today

with that said is there a reason for the august 22nd release?

You may find that digital isn't the same price - every time I have looked the digital outlets are charging a premium for pre-orders, and the online retailers are selling at a discount - In my case I have pre-ordered with an online retailer (coolshop.co.uk) for £22 whereas gamersgate.co.uk is charging £35 though it is throwing some extras.

Also ordered my boxed copy via CoolShop (Denmark). Couldn't resist the thought that the extra soundtrack DLC might never come as a separate DLC though, so I ordered a GG copy as wello (this also means I will get it as early as possible, whether by the postman or an internet source).

Is there a shop in Britain that sells this game? An ordinary offline shop? I got banned from paypal a while ago and I can't be bothered to sort it out. I'm in no hurry, so if some shops are only getting it January next year I can wait. I'm a patient man.

Game's online store has it, so I'd imagine their retail stores will as well, although depending on the amount of shelf space your local store devotes to PC games, you may have to get it specially ordered in for you.

According to this thred, the box copy will not include the GG's 'digital copy' feature.

So I am getting Victoria II, and I am going to pre- order it, but there is 1 problem. I live in the Netherlands, and I can't find any store here which sells the game. I don't want to buy it online, I'd like to have a hard copy.
Buying over like Amazon or international sites isn't an option, because I don't have a creditcard.

Help would be appreciated.

AFAIK the game (just as all recent Paradox games) won't be released in the Netherlands. Where did you get HoI3 from ? Most likely they will also have V2.

BTW if you do want an online version on Gamersgate you don't need a creditcard to buy something. You can use Paypal or IDeal to pay.

HoI 3 was a gift I got for my birthday my aunt bought me, she lives in Canada, and she brought it along, cuz I'm into WW2.

In the UK I have seen Hearts of Iron and Victoria at Game. I think it would be cheaper to order it online though.

I saw your second post, so this isn't relevant to you, but for the record if you pre-order from amazon and pay for first class post then your game will arrive on release date.

AFAIK the only US merchant that is selling boxed copies is Amazon. I asked Best Buy and they were like "what is that?"

Yeah and with amazon keeping that 22nd release date (at least last time i checked)
looks like Americans might have a hard time getting the game any time soon
