Why does Amazon.com in the US have the release as Aug 22nd? I can't wait another week to play this! I wanna play it now!

I noticed that to and not sure why, but there's always the digital release that'll be available on the 13th for us all to enjoy!
But I like having a physical copy of the game, and my internet is not that fast so it would take awhile to download the whole game.
Will it take a week to download the whole game? And if you want a physical copy, you can always copy the install file to a CD.
The thing about PI games is they're no where as large as some of the other harddrive eaters out there, so even with a slowish net it still shouldn't take THAT long to get it. The PI games I downloaded from their sites were usually nice and fast.
It's not just the CD, but the box and manual and the overall presentation of the boxed version. I'll be out of town for Aug 13th-16th so I suppose I'll wait to the 22nd.
Took me less than 20 minutes to download EU3 complete. I set it on download, went to make a sausage sandwich and when I came back it was done.

My satellite internet isn't that fast and 2 GB would take a few days. After a few hours, the speed would plummet and it would be downloading 2-3 kb a second.
Amazon has been known to change release date info within a couple days of actual release, and also not change the release date and still ship items if they come out earlier, so I'd say preorder it because they might very well get it in time for a 13th Aug release.
Personally, I'd rather wait awhile for the first patch (I'm sure the first release will be absolutely lovely, but it would be nice to see any possible issues smoothed over) and vicky2wiki. That just makes it all easier to play.
Patch 1.1 will most likely be available on the day of release, since Paradox has done so for EU3 and I think HOI3 as well.
Newegg also has Aug 22. Either they are both operating off of the same incorrect information, or the US release date is different. I wasn't able to find another US retailer to confirm.

A: We set a release date that is our "recommended" release date. Most retailers will use the same release date but some will, for one reason or another, set their own release date. I would assume Amazon has some good reason for why they've chosen that release date but feel free to contact them and ask if it's possible to push the release to Aug 13, the only way for us to influence the big giants of this industry is via consumer demands.

This is very likely, considering that they are free to work on various issues between data-lock and the release.
what is the best to support paradox the most? buy from amazon or gamergate? so far i have bought from gamergate but getting a map with the pysical copy of amazon sounds tempting.

Buying the game at release is always the best.
In theory we get more money from downloads like steam or gg, but we also want to keep selling good in retail so that those that buy boxes still have a chance for it in the future.
