Please, for the love of God, have Taiping Tianguo as a nation. Since it existed in real life I'm not sure it should be under Hypothetical Nations, but it was just as much of a real nation as CSA was, which is represented very well in V1.

The entire Taiping rebellion deserves so much more attention than it got in Vicky, considering it was by far the biggest war of the period.

I think most countrys should have some generic red/white version so you can simulate civil war in many more countrys. it could have been france, or sweden or spain that had it instead of russia and finland. and a event when one side lose cousing white or red annexing the other without gaining much badboy and, if it is not offending any rule, that stuff finnish white did to finnish red and russian reds did after the civil war. you know, affecting pop size and all...

I agree, like in Rome for example, non sessecionist civil wars (the CSA being seccesionist would be it's own normal nation) like the Carlist Wars or the Russian Civil war or some civil war which just ends up happening could be handled like in Rome.

Plus it would be cool to play as Taiping and make the China Sea a Taiping pool, a hyurk hyurk hyurk.

Yes, absolutely.

All we need is a Rome-style civil war tag for each nation; the game would determine the nature of the revolt and flag and name the rebelling faction accordingly.

In North America, you at least need 9 countries as they could all have existed if history had taken a different path at some point :
  • USA, Canada, Mexico, the obvious.
  • Texas, Québec (Lower Canada) revolted in 1837-38, Upper Canada (Ontario) again in 1837-38, CSA and the Métis nation of the Red River in Manitoba who revolted in 1869
  • Nova Scotia/Maritimes country who was so pissed off at the Confederation of 1867 that they elected a set of separatist representants. In the end, they got a big fat no from London and that settled it.

My suggestions:
-A Yugoslavia ahead of the 1914 scenario. Could be a "decision" any West-slavic nation can make.
-Kurdistan
-Gran Columbia
-South Africa should be a bit more malleable to include Lesotho & Swaziland as cores. Maybe Southern Rhodesia/Zimbabwe. (Speaking of which, some event/decision could exist regarding the Cape to Cairo railway)
-Australia/New Zealand union. Australiasia? United Australia? New Zealand very nearly joined Australia but New Zealand's Treaty of Waitangi clashed with Australian White Australia policy. This could be an interesting event chain, do they ignore the Treaty of Waitangi, generating BB & militancy, scrap the White Australia Policy, raising Aboriginal Australian consciouness through the roof & altering many political party's policies away from jingoism/residence. IF the WAP is scrapped, THEN another decision could arise around incorporating Papua New Guinea & Pacific Islands into Australia, as the incorporation of a majority "black" area was prohibited by the WAP. Other eventualities include New Zealand without the ToW being incorporated into Australia no fuss, and Australia incorporating PNG et al despite having the WAP in a more "oppressive" policy.

Each of the colonies staying as their own entities ( australian federation fails to fire)

God, I love being a Nova Scotian. A "country" where Royalist Loyalty quashed separtist sentiment.

But Newfoundland and (Britisch) Columbia, Newfoundland, who became its own dominion and Britisch Columbia, who were seriously considering the prospect, if the Canadians couldn't build a transcontinental railway. Maybe they were considering to join the Americans, I can't remember, it was 8th grade history class. But I do like how its Columbia in Vicky, with the potential for the American part to be added in.

Not to rain on your parade Verenti BUT, they got a no from London but to sweeten the deal, they were bought off with positions and money. So much so for loyalists sentiments ;)

That, though, was IMO the worst feature of the otherwise excellent VIP. Unless they come up with a meaningfully different experience for tribal nations, one that doesn't just involve putting them on the same basis as European states but hamstringing them to buggery, I would rather have subsaharan Africa and the American west a 'blank canvas' than parcelled up into wholly ahistorical nation states which have to be slowly eroded through some excruciating event chain.

Id like to see less attention be paid at silly little european one province places and more paid to the entire part of the world that didnt even have nations in it before OHGamer tried to model it in VIP. ANd even today don't have proper modeling of ethnicities.

North America, south america, and especially africa.
I´d love to see the posibility of "old empires" coming back to life too. Examples? Well, the most evident is India, coming back to the times of Asoka after the 1857 uprising; but a second Khemer Empire in the SE part of the Asian continent would be cool to see too.
