As far as I understand, all other teams beside the 3 main teams are under construction, and some developers from those minor teams were relocated to the 3 main teams. It's written there. That's just not true at all.
EU4 simply isn't mentioned since it already has a dedicated dev team separate from the regular PDS structure in Paradox Tinto, it's just that now the rest of development has been reorganized as well.
It's not strawman, it's fact. You didn't come on the forum to say that you enjoyed the game during the time that you did. I'm not faulting you for that, i'm saying it's how it is with you (literally) and with most people that play the game. People mostly voice their views when it's negative.
Mega threats is the best strategy for quelling any criticism. Just throw it all off into one big mess of a thread. Nobody is going to bother looking through the 2k replies.See you in the mega thread soon my friend
This was the entire reason I started posting here far more than usual. I know bugs can be fixed, but game deisgn is basically set in stone and will need a lot of work to sort out if it's really bad. For example dev stealing mechanics make 0 sense to me in their current state.New features render previous ones useless or make no real sense game design wise:
They should rename it to auto-siege or something like that since the carpet part isn't there. It would be better to mention that the Carpet Sieging doesn't work as it should, and if it does, then it's utter shit xD
Given how it works, it takes less clicks to order your army manually than to use this "quality of life" feature, and it also allows to diminish your Manpower loss by spreading your unit betterThey should rename it to auto-siege or something like that since the carpet part isn't there.
it isn't an interpretation, it's almost exactly what's happening though. Constructive criticisms like this thread are not the majority comments and remarks being made. The majority of individuals are people making unnecessarily negative and tasteless comments and being over the top and over dramatic. It's insane. The maturity level of this community has seriously gone down over the years, significantly. I am honestly starting to make a connection between Paradox's growth as a company and the unearthing of many over the top "I don't know the difference between straight up being a douche and constructive criticism" individuals. Although the company is making these annoyingly stupid blunders/botches with their launches, it doesn't justify the behavior seen throughout this forum, the steam page, and twitter.I agree with the OP that the damage control was worse than the DLC. Screw ups happen and no company is perfect.
However, Paradox has instead interpreted community outrage as "hordes of angry people attacking their developer team", when in reality, we're just normal (probably nerdy) people that want a good game. Tell us that you'll fix it and actually do it, (not just patch out the crashes and move on, actually integrate the new features into the rest of the game, better support the AI using them and make old ones still useful options compared to the new ones), and the community will be happy again. Instead, this has happened 3 times before now and the community feels attacked again. Honestly, the main reason why I haven't moved on is Paradox's monopoly on Grand Strategy games.
Hi, I hope this is the correct place to post bugs.
NA Totemist mission "Uniting the Tribes" cannot be completed if you are already Republic or Theocracy.

Anyone who thinks devs don't communicate anymore because of the forum toxicity should check the Suggestions subforum.
It's probably the most civil subforum and yet they almost never appear.
I had a conversation with someone earlier who was supporting Paradox because of the 'toxic fanbase'; I pointed out to him that the PDX devs say they want constructive feedback and have suggestions and bug reports forums and yet never go to the former and rarely go on the latter. I don't think he quite understood that that indicates that just maybe Paradox is a little bit to blame for all this mess.
If this is the case, and I suspect it is, then anger is misplaced when attacking the developers and they really don't need it do they. This is sadly true. I work in a similar industry and this is just a general problem with the creative arts sector in general. It's a brutal old industry and it's common knowledge this is the case.
Commercial and corporate interests dominate everything - squeezing every last bit of profit out the game is the primary concern.
I can't speak for PDX directly but it's same story everywhere. The expectations, timescales and shedules are always completely unrealistic - understaffing and unpaid overtime is almost business as usual. Artists and devs only do the job because they love what they do and genuinely care about the game. My heart wholeheartedly goes out to them in this situation, I'm sure they did the best job they could in the circumstances.
We've seen that argument since before EU4 was even a year old on these forums. Still the DLCs have kept on coming and the people have kept on buying. To be fair, EU4 has been releasing completely broken, low quality, overpriced expansions for a few years now.. You guys keep buying em
It's not dying. This isn't the first "boycott PDX/EU4". This isn't even the first concerted effort of review bombing. I still remember the standards of boycott being raised in spring/summer 2014 because PDS had the audacity not to announce EU5.I stand corrected about the age of accounts.
I still believe that if people cause Paradox to dump Eu4 that there will be no desire for Paradox to make a Eu5 and we will end up like the people who keep asking for VIC3 year after year after year with no results. So yes point out what went wrong and what needs to change but don't burn everything to the ground. There are many people like myself who have spent years building/contributing to mods and utilities to help the eu community and it is a shame to stand by and watch it all die.
The community actually knows the cause of the save corruption bug. It is when certain countries use the Concentrate Development feature. The community has not identified what's causing the bug, it has identified the bug and its effects. Why do you have to spread misinformation? It just looks silly. The very person who's fixing the saved games for people and created the thread about it has no idea what causes it, but apparently you say the community does!
Wow, such new and interesting information you've provided us with!
Especially when parts of it is already fixed.

If it says a lot about NMS's effort to fix the game, then why are you utterly ignoring the 8 years of development of EUIV that receives constant free updates? After all, it's about the effort, right? Why are you also ignoring the fact that they're already fixing the very issues that bother you so much?
