The artwork is excellent!

But:

Gonna confuse a lot of folks who think it is an ACW game.

Even though I personally like the cover, I think you're absolutely right. Maybe use the idea but make it stand out more, either by more clearly showing the english forces, or by having something that really grab your attention, like Confederates vs. french or german forces.

I'm not sure how many people over here would recognise the Dixie flag, or if they did care to play a game that appears at first blush to be about the ACW.

I really think it would sell better with confederates vs. Germans (have some Bismarckish looking General on the left, commanding a trench full of German soldiers with Pickelhauben, while the Confederate cavalry is charging from the right side... All that on the coast, with Dreadnoughts supporting the Confederates by bombarding the German lines.

It is a very very cool cover, but I would worry that it could be mistaken for a ACW game by the uninitiated... maybe give the horse Bismarck's moustache or something to emphasize the German content?

Although the concept behind it is kinda wacky, the cover pic itself is cool.

I like the concept behind the cover art. Grab their attention with ACW. Then they pick it up and read the back cover and say, "Cool."

I would, were it my call have localized covers for the major markets and a generic alternative depicting a glorious moment in the history of that particular nation during that time. For example for USA I would highlight Teddy Roosevelt, perhaps facing off J.P. Morgan.

It did also occur to me that Confeds versus British doesn't stand out pretty well and may confuse people. It'd be best the American Union flag and troops versus the British. But then it may confuse people that it is the War of American Independence. :-/

USA vs Germany would be a nice setup, I suppose.
