republic of venice !!!

with the looong historic roots they have (going back directly to roman times), and the still surprisingly strong seperatism they have (on account of the 'shady' popular vote that merged venice with sardinian italy), its quite plausible.

Yes, Venice as a country already is present in Victoria 1. There historically was a Venetian Republic proclaimed during the revolutions of 1848, when rebels led by Daniele Manin declared its independence from the Habsburg monarchy.

Well, yeah, because that's how it went in history. I don't get your point. Are you complaining that a nation that didn't exist in the time period can only be created through an ahistorical action?

No, the thread is for having more possible revolter nations.

One ought to be able to split Germany back to the pre-Napoleonic states.
Just think of the fun of having 200-300 small german states. :D

And it also ought to be possible to have the states that Napoleon created in the game, in case of an French dominance over Europe.

And what about getting some Kaiserreich nations into V2?
United Baltic Duchy, Galizien, Mittelafrika and etc?

I think that there are not enough provinces in Central Europe to simulate the pre-Napoleanic statelets. However the incorporation of the United Baltic Duchy would be a cool addition I think.

Let me propose to actually make the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom a playable entity. The Tai Ping Rebellion was probably the largest armed conflict in history before WW1, and an important reason that China fell apart.

That is a very good idea I think, I hope they follow a simialer course during the Carlist Wars as well.

First, I apologize for not handling the English, secondly I use the google translator, third enclose the text in Spanish, in case some Castilian speaking, you can transfer it into English more comprehensible.

Possible States for South America:

-Araucania or New France:
A state composed of South American native Mapuche (pehuenches Tehuelches picunches, etc.)..
Occupy the Chilean Patagonia and Argentina, but the Araucania region in Chile.
In the nineteenth century a Frenchman declared himself King of Araucania, and seeking the support of France, but before you get taken prisoner by Chilean troops, thwarting the plans.
http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reino_de_la_Araucan%C3%ADa_y_la_Patagonia

-Tawantinsuyo or New Inca Empire or Great Peru or Peru-Bolivian Confederation:
In the early Victorian era, the Peru-Bolivian Confederation, led by General Santa Cruz, attempted to restore the Inca empire, and its objective was to occupy all the land that once belonged to the Viceroyalty of Peru, but this would defeat the forces Chile, Argentina and Ecuador.
Possible training:
1 - Peru-Bolivia that won the war against Chile and Argentina
2 - when Spain declared war on the Chincha Islands Peru for an alliance emerges Bolivian, Chilean, Ecuadorian and Peruvian against Spain.

http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confederaci%C3%B3n_Per%C3%BA-Boliviana

-Los Andes:
This is more fictional, but something somewhat reasonable, this would be the union of Argentina and Chile, with cores in Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia and Peru.
Possible causes is that both Argentina and Chile were the area of influence of the masonic lodge Lautaro, and the posting of those countries were closely linked to what this lodge decided, especially in the years before 1850.

Information on the lodge Lautaro and his Argentine and Chilean groups
http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logia_de_Lautaro

-Gran Colombia:

http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reino_de_la_Araucanía_y_la_Patagonia

http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confederación_Perú-Boliviana

http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logia_de_Lautaro

-Gran Colombia:
Una posible reunificación de la gran Colombia disuelta pocos años antes de iniciar la era victoriana.
Colombia, Ecuador, Panamá, Venezuela, con capital en panamá.

i just hope they correctly represent Egypt.

Egypt was a civil country by the 1830s. Mohamed Ali Pasha built
Factories based in Cairo produced muskets and cannons

..With a shipyard he built in Alexandria

..Muhammad Ali established a textile industry

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammad_Ali_of_Egypt

it's unfair for Egypt to start as an uncivil country. Egyptian military was much better than that of the Ottomans too.

Yes, there needs to be a playable Taiping. With better leadership, they could have overthrown the Qing. But that period was particularly traumatic for the Qing and there were many other rebels that could have formed their own nations.

Other Chinese Rebels nations:

The Nian - Rise in 1855 around Shanxi, Shandong, Henan, Anhui, and Jiangsu. Leader - Zhang Luoxing

Pingnan Guo - Muslim nation also around 1855 in Yunan. Leader - Du Wenxiu

In the late game, there are various warlord groups that can pop up, including many that were not included in HOI2.

How about all the countries from EU3, like Brittenay?

Brittany? Nah, that one wouldn't fly. Brittany's independence ended with the Treaty of Union of 1532, more or less. And while it retained a regional identity, making it a national entity would be too much of a stretch.

Euskadi, perhaps ?

Let me propose to actually make the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom a playable entity. The Tai Ping Rebellion was probably the largest armed conflict in history before WW1, and an important reason that China fell apart.

I think if Taiping is to be included, it should be called "Taiping Tianguo/Taiping Tienkuo" rather than Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, because as far as I know Taiping is not a Kingsom (in sinosphere, being a kingdom means the nation is a vassal of an empire IIRC), nor an empire, but the heaven itself(Tianguo=Heaven)! The name is also convenient considering the fact that a heaven can be a monarchy or republic, whereas a kingdom cannot be a republic at the same time;)

Calling the state just as "Taiping" is fine for me, but it is like calling UK as "United", since "Taiping" is not a proper noun.
