As I heard in 1.5 we will be able to build Dyson spheres and ringworlds, but why no megaships? The huge pirates' and fallen empires' ships are there for quite some time already, and still, player has to print hundreds of battleships. I just wish we can have more ship sizes - 2x, 4x, 8x, ... of battleships's size. Maybe they should not be build in spaceports - rather by construction ships instead, like military stations, in space. What do u think, guys?

I think that it could possibly tie in with a possible Superweapon feature,
which the devs might already have plans for in some future update.
Don't take my word for it though.

What about some kind of 'death star' project, like in Galactic Civilisations?

That would be cool as long as the resulting weapon was not almost completely useless like the Terror Star was in GC2.

I'd be happy for an additional ship size bigger than a battleship, but would want some limitation on volumes.

I get there is a little sarcasm in the above posts, but I certainly would not want a long list of new ship sizes above battleship - its just not needed in my opinion and could get silly.

If super weapons are introduced, I'm open to the idea as well, but again would like it to be handled carefully - a ship with a super weapon should be a limited resource and carefully protected. Attaching them to a special project at great cost seems like a good approach. You've just gotta ensure no rebel skum sneak in and steal the plans ...(this could actually be a thing, thinking on it ...).

I don't think damages from superweapons should be reversible.
They should be used to eradicate a threat or an annoyance.
Like what the Romans did with Carthage.

I think there should just be one category for the megaships and every single design would have a separate hull.

With the addition of dyson structures, a system bound interstellar weapon platform, capable of glassing an entire system from at most half a galaxy away is not an unreasonable notion, though it ought to be expensive to maintain and only through specific editcs or such (kind of like the system in the IBS Doomsday weapon mod, or what have you). Usable once per war perhaps with a minimum of ten year intervals.

I would like a megastructure such as a MegaOrbitalShipyard, with naval capacity bonus and maybe the buildspeed of 5 - 10 level 6 spaceports, upgradable to give bonuses similarly to spaceport modules.
Then from this huge shipyard you could produce titans or whatever "mega" ships but also smaller normal ships =)

Please someone make a mod that which add above to the game ;o)

While disney has show some decent conduct regarding some other acquired franchises, the can keep their greedy mitts off, they've no place to claim sole propriety over weapons capable erasing whole space sectors from the map.

My point was: I loved episode iv-vi I tolerated ep i-iii. However I came out of cinema prematurely since episode vii was so unplausible. SW galaxy used to be big. Now it became small with no sense of distances.

The universe, as huge as it is, can theoretically, with the right tech, be made a very small place indeed. Plop down a wormhole connection between a star and the target planet and you've instant xeno barbeque all from the comfort of your home system. Though granted it is all rather theoretical ... and even in the game such a thing ought to only feasible once you've gotten to your second or maybe even third dyson structure, because that that point energy is a non-issue and when energy is a non-issue, so are the distances involved. But yeah, it ought to be the final solution at the very end of your tech research when you either nothing else gives or you're just bored and do it cause you can.
