So they are well aware of the situation in this thread, but are probably under orders to not divulge any information, which makes me hope that they are at least considering reviving this game in a somewhat near future. Even if the next DLC is hella expensive, please just give us some news, PDXWe got some posts from "officials" rather recently, but not related to the question of this thread...
Publicly traded companies give up their soul in order to ensure they meet quarterly growth projections. There is a reason that we started seeing all these issues after 2016.I mean, I ended with being sad to have seemingly lost the Paradox of my 20s. I agree with everything you're saying. Maybe if we stomp loudly enough, someone will make it happen at Paradox?
I own my own independent wealth management firm. Yeah, I know how this works sadly. I think the soul is stripped for most firms just issuing the IPO to be honest. Many years ago, before I worked in wealth management I worked for a company which went public. I was the only person in the firm who was not in corporate management who had any finance knowledge of note. So, everyone asked me on the intra-firm forums to price the stock 180 days past IPO so they'd know what to do with their phantom stock (take cash or convert). I was fired for answering. I'll note that the stock was only trading $0.02 different of a $12.00 par price from my message, when it opened on the 181st day of trading (when phantom stock converted was unlocked and able to be sold).Publicly traded companies give up their soul in order to ensure they meet quarterly growth projections. Paradox, please don't play with my feelings, when it comes to I:R.
You might have noticed that Imperator: Rome isn’t assigned to any of the studios mentioned above. The reason for this is that on a regular basis we analyze the projects we have in development, where they are at, what they are trying to do and also what people and resources we have working on them. As part of this analysis we realized that there was a need to bring reinforcement for a couple of the projects at PDS, and given where Imperator was at in the run up to 2.0’s launch, we decided that after the launch of the update we would move people from Imperator to these other projects. Right now we’re working on plans to regrow the team for Imperator and continue development, but for the short term we needed to focus our efforts on these other projects.
I wanted to break the news now to manage everyone’s expectations: don’t expect much Imperator news at PDXCON, or any new content coming out in 2021. We’ll of course get back to everyone with news about it as long as we have something to share!
Username checks out.you can't just flatly say "lmao gaem ded, we're leaving it", you have to be more diplomatic about it, especially for a company in PDX's position
PDX did not lie, you just have to read between the lines a bit, the game was always dead
Honestly people the more time passes the more you like being taken for idiots.you can't just flatly say "lmao gaem ded, we're leaving it", you have to be more diplomatic about it, especially for a company in PDX's position

If the game had significant content I would have agreed with you. But the game is empty. And for mods it's very very limited. I don't know how CK2 was at 2.0, but you can't do anything. The number of tags is limited to 2090 (so it's impossible to really create country fragmentations without crashing the game when you reach the limit), successions are a joke and you can't change anything. The characters are useless and the interactions are very limited, etc...TBH a small QoL patch would be nice (I'd like to be able to assign armies/legions to provinces again...) but I am more concerned that a patch would break mods. Probably best for PDX to leave Imperator where it is, they have bigger fish to fry, but who knows, maybe they are working on something right now just haven't announced it.
All the work done on Invictus, which is an amazing community effort, might actually have complicated things a bit in terms of another patch, or final patch. Because that would be more work done on the base game, which, at this point, is already far behind.but I am more concerned that a patch would break mods.
Well, then they should make an update to open more modability capabilities. Modders hands are tied in many aspects. All the work done on Invictus, which is an amazing community effort, might actually have complicated things a bit in terms of another patch, or final patch. The invictus mod was a nice reaction from the community during the shutdown period, although for me the limit in terms of possibilities offered by the base games makes the mod not interesting (especially for me: if we adds the direction taken and the mess in the files). All the work done on Invictus, which is an amazing community effort, might actually have complicated things a bit in terms of another patch, or final patch.
