Here is the outline of this idea:
- Empire very focused on trade value;
- Difficulty administering a large empire;
- Dense empire;
- Business Management
- Very populated planet;
- Diplomacy and commercial conflict
- Extraterritorial extension
The trade value, always more trade value :
Resource production jobs (mineral, food, alloy, volatile motes and etc.) produce 50% less resources, but this “lost” amount is exchanged for an equivalent trade value.
This also applies to mining stations.
A megacorporation will, especially at the beginning, be more dependent on the market to meet its resource needs, but this gives it some flexibility.
Administration :
I know there will be changes regarding administrative capacity, but this is to give a general idea.
Pops do not increase the sprawl empire of Megacorporations.
However, pops have -50% Governing Ethics Attraction, consume +50% consumer goods and amenities and generate +50% trade value according to their living standards (this does not increase the production of trade value of jobs).
Bureaucrats produce +5 Administrative (instead of 10) Capacity and +5 Trade values.
Maybe doubled the empire sprawl for each colony, system and district.
The point is to discourage Megacorporations from expanding and really using their own mechanics to thrive and have planets populated beyond what is possible for other empires.
The Business :
Megacorporations would have “business management”. Megacorporations have internal and external division.
Internal Division:
The interior divisions represent the different business sectors of the company :
- Entertainment (Amusement Megaplex);
- Administrative (Commercial Forum);
- Alimentary (Fast Food Chain);
- Security (Mercenary Liaison Office);
- Military (Private Military Industries);
- Mining (Private Mining Consortium);
- R&D (Private Research Enterprises);
- Communication (Public Relations Firm)
- Customer Service (Virtual Entertainment Studios)
- Religious (Temple of Prosperity);
- Lobbying (Corporate Embassy);
- Hotel (Executive Retreat);
- Touristic (Xeno-Outreach Agency);
- Imperial (Imperial Concession Port).
Each division has a dedicated main administrative office providing jobs and essential for the Megacorporation to benefit from the bonuses related to the creation of the corresponding corporate buildings :
- Entertainment : +1 Merchant, +2 Clerk
- Administrative : +1 Executive, +2 Clerk
- Alimentary : +1 Merchant, +2 Clerk
- Security : +1 Executive, +2 Clerk
- Military : +1 Merchant, +2 Clerk
- Mining : +1 Merchant, +2 Clerk
- R&D : +1 Science Director, +2 Clerk
- Communication : +1 Executive, +2 Clerk
- Customer Service : +1 Merchant, +2 Clerk
- Religious : +1 High Priest, +2 Clerk
- Lobbying : +1 Merchant, +2 Clerk
- Hotel : +1 Merchant, +2 Clerk
- Touristic : +1 Executive, +2 Clerk
- Imperial : +1 Executive, +2 Clerk
Each division also has a secondary building :
- Entertainment : +1 Clerk, +2 Entertainer
- Administrative : +1 Clerk, +2 Bureaucrat
- Alimentary : +1 Clerk, +2 Farmer
- Security : +1 Clerk, +2 Soldier
- Military : +1 Clerk, +2 Metallurgist
- Mining : +1 Clerk, +2 Miner
- R&D : +1 Clerk, +2 Researcher
- Communication : +1 Clerk, +2 Manager
- Customer Service : +1 Clerk, +2 Artisan
- Religious : +1 Clerk, +2 Priest
- Lobbying : +1 Clerk, +2 Manager
- Hotel : +1 Clerk, +5 Housing
- Touristic : +1 Clerk, +2 Manager
- Imperial : +1 Clerk, +2 Soldier
These buildings do not occupy the regular slots, but dedicated slots. These buildings replace the Corporate Buildings on the planets of the Megacorporations.
Each main administrative office can be improved without level limit according to the development of the division. The development of the division increases with the number of corresponding buildings constructed in other empires.
Each additional level of a main administrative office grants an additional construction emplacement for secondary corporate buildings. The number of locations is not limited to a maximum of 4.
The number of secondary corporate buildings is limited by the level of the corresponding main administrative office, but they do not have to be built on the same planet.
Each level of a main administrative office consumes administrative capacity.
External Divisions :
An external division is created when a megacorporation is established in another empire.
The level of development of an external division depends on the number of corporate buildings installed in that empire.
Like the interior divisions, there are dedicated buildings:
- main administrative office : +1 Executive, +2 Clerk
- secondary building : +1 Clerk, +2 Manager
The planet with the main administrative office of an external division receives the trade value generated by the division.
With these corporate buildings, megacorporations are able to create very dense planets and grow internally vertically by extending their different divisions among other empires.
Obviously, the challenge may be to find housing for all these workers.
Diplomacy :
First, megacorporations would have an interface dedicated to managing divisions and branch offices.
Each interior division would have the information displayed as to its level of development, the maximum possible level of its main administrative office and the number of possible secondary buildings, as well as the current values of those buildings.
Then, each empire that may have branch offices of coporation would be displayed.
If a commercial pact is signed. There would be a button to request permission to create a division.
Establishing a megacorporation brings positive and negative.
Establishing a branch office can lose trade value! But potentially offset by corporate buildings.
There, there would be 4 options to define the relation of this division in this empire:
- Free trade :
- Joint venture:
- Monopoly:
- Criminal:
You can also see the branch offices of other megacorporations.
From this page, you can create/close branch offices, construct/destroy corporate buildings and also special projects, such as for espionage.
One can imagine to seize a branch office of another megacorporation, to close a branch office, to open one, with conditions.
For example, a branch office can be closed by espionage only if the empire has broken the commercial pact to establish branch offices in its empire and there is no truce between the two empires.
Extraterritorial extension :
If the megacorporation (including Criminal Heritage) or the planet empire of a branch office can build a habitat. The megacorporation can finance the construction of a habitat around the planet or buy a habitat already built with the agreement of the empire.
This habitat will be managed by the corporation and will have a fixed special designation "corporate station" which increases the commercial value of the habitat and the planet by 20%. Also, 50% of the amenities produced in the station is transferred to the planet and each 1 amenitie transferred generates 0.5 trade value at the station.
The presence of a habitat controlled by a megacorporation makes all hostile acts against the branch office more difficult on the planet.

- +25% trade value for job, if branch office
- +1 merchant, if branch office and +1 per corporate building
- Joint venture:
- -25% branch office cost
- 25% planetary trade value for branch office
- +1 max corporate buildings
- +1 max corporate building slot
- +1: max corporate buildings with System Capital-Complex
- +1: max corporate buildings slot with System Capital-Complex
- Monopoly:
- 100% planetary trade value for branch office
- -100% empire sprawl from planet districts
- +1 branch office sprawl empire per district on the planet
- +3 amenities for clerk, if branch office
- Can buy the branch offices of other megacorporations (except criminals), obviously, that will displease these corporations.
- Criminal:
- accessible only with a spy project, each new branch office must be created by a spy project, unless crime is greater than 25 on the planet
- 25% planetary trade value for branch office + 0.5% per crime
- crime increases on all planets of the empire according to the level of development of the criminal division (or the level of its main administrative office) established in that empire.
Then, for each valid empire, we can display the list of planets with the important indications to judge the value of a future branch office, as well as the corporate buildings built.You can also see the branch offices of other megacorporations.
