It used to happen a lot in games before diplomatic range. Sometimes for the King of Iceland, the only real women to marry were priestesses in Africa.
I would make sure to take as many concubines from as far away as possible. I miss those days.
Somehow I ended up with a couple black Germanic Anglo-Saxons in York at one point. They were apparently descendants of an Ethiopian count who got holy-warred by the Egyptians but I have no idea how the Germanic part got into it.
