I am currently running the latest steam version (2.3.4.0, 12-05-2015), and have all the dlc with the exception of the following:

- All of the E-books
- Songs of India
- Hymns of Abraham
- Persian unit pack
- Early eastern clothing pack

The issue I am currently using revolves around the mediterranean portraits. I am playing as the greek strategos (viceroy duke) of Achaia, but everytime I load the game, all my previous characters and my current character change their beards. So my original character, who sported a manly dumbledore style beard, now lies in his grave cleanshaven. I can mend this for my current character using the barber shop option from the ruler customizer, but after his death his beard too will dissapear or change.

This seems to only affect characters of the Greek/mediterranean graphical culture, as my current deseased father (German graphical culture) still has his own manly stash. I'm however unsure if it only affects my characters, my dynasty or perhaps all mediterranean characters.

The only mods I'm using is the 'better borders' mod, which changes the map graphics to make the borders a thicker black line, and the 'Coat of arms editor expansion' mod, which allows you to give historical COA's to your custome character dynasty.

I would like to know a way to fix this, as I'd prefer my characters to keep the awesome beards I give them to keep them apart.

As a side note; I've also added the 'set_coat_of_arms=yes' to my dynasty in the save game to keep my COA from scrambling into some ugly mess everytime I convert religions.

It's a known issue that the beards are not saved properly with the Mediterranean portrait pack. It seems that it only happens to some specific beards, though. Usually it will reset if you save the game and load that save as well. It's not a priority to fix this at the moment, but we do have it reported internally already. So expect it to be fixed sometime in the future. Can't say for certain when.

Cheers for reporting it though!

Well thanks for letting me know.

I have to admit that the new mediterranean portraits are awesome. I used to hate italian/iberian/greek characters because they looked terrible, but now I can finally be an awesome looking basileus.

On a side note:
A second thing I've noticed is that my (duke/strategos-level) characters seem to revert to the count level portrait after death (the martial version with the kettle helmet). Is this perhaps related to the same bug, or is this related to the imperial viceroyalty system the byzantines start with causing you to lose the duchy title after death?
