Is there going to be medicine specific technology in the game?

I understand that all the nations will be equal in terms of Technology, but the allies had a significant advantage in this field with the creation of penicillin, and tetanus vaccines. This is definitely a field that Germany and the other axis members lacked both the technical talent and the knowledge in and played a huge role in reducing combat deaths for the allies.

Since we are moving more towards a Research team type research, this tech would be easy to have Germany start at earlier levels while giving Britain a strong medicine tech team.

I agree that was a major factor. I remember watching a documentary where they mentioned that when it came to in combat blood transfusions, the allies's medics had stocks of donated blood, while the Germans had to have on-battlefield donors. :eek:hmy:

There were some medical related techs in HoI3 (I'm 99% sure - they've definitely been in at least one of the HoIs, and I'm fairly confident at least HoI2 and 3) - it was fairly abstracted, but gave a bonus to trickleback. I'd be surprised if it was cut for HoI4, so all being well it'll still be in :).

Axis was behind/way behind in pretty much every tech that the industrial tech tree had.
I don't think we will use tech teams like in HOI2, the system will be that you can chose maybe one or a few techs at a time and the tech teams will just reduce the cost of the tech, basicly like you always use the beat tech team.
Tech teams however will cost political points so if you chose the better medicin tech team you will lose in something else which may be even more important.

and synthetic mass-produced anti malarial medicines that didn't need chinchona.
