Medal inflation?

Back in the day, medals (or icons, whatever you want to call them) used to mean something. 4-5 was like you were good (pending on what they were), and then as time went on the medals just became more and more worthless.

Now, the only medals really worth something are the 200k ones and the ones for beta-testing. Does paradox ever have a plan to do something about this? Eventually, everyone's name will be cluttered with medals and it'll become an eyesore!

I also like the beta-testing ones though I will not complain for the ones we acquire just for having purchased a game. I happen to like them -- a lot. I wouldn't call them worthless since someone did design them. In fact, when it comes to purchasing a game, I try to do so when an icon will be granted. For example, EUIII Chronicles robbed me of the Pope's Fish Head... Had I known of this before hand I would have bought the games/expansions separately.

Come to think of it, I have some gamersgate coins... Going to get Sword of the Stars I if for only the icon..and who knows I might end up liking the game....

If you are interested in Medals check the registration page to make sure there is an entry there.
Some of the early games did not have codes to register, including CK, although the DV expansion for it does.

As for the increasing number of medals, we are aware of the issue and Coincidently, just today I think I came up with an elegant solution for that, although I cannot say too much because I have not even cleared it with Marketing yet.

Yes, yes you did. Almost literally right before I signed up. It stares at me whenever I am on gamersgate, luckily Im not there too often so I've been able to resist.

A different medal for pre-orders would be better for that.

I, for example, have bought a lot of games only for the forum medal and never played them. I have very little time for games and, so, I have to be very selective.

Or, perhaps, an option on the My Game tabs to show/hide each registered medal.
