I was just reading about the German Fallschirmjager attack on the Belgian Fortress of Eben-Emael during Fall Gelb (Case Yellow). It was supposed to be the largest and toughest Fort in the world at the time.
It overlooked the Albert Canal and protected the roads that led to the heartland of Belgium. The Germans landed Glider Paratroops right on top of the fortress and seized it with only 6 deaths I think. 60 Belgians died.
So maybe Paratroops should get a buff to attacking a Fort if they land on top of it? Or at least when using the Glider ability? I think Glider troops should be their own unit but that's another discussion. I don't know if there are any other examples of Paratroops landing on top of a Fort.
One issue I see is that the game doesn't simulate the garrison troops of Fortifications. Forts are completely empty unless you have a Division standing on them. Which has annoyed me since release.
