They made it so you always have at least one advisor above +1. I think they should make it so you always have at least one +1 advisor and at least two different types of advisors.

Thats burgundys starting advisors. They're iirc all scripted and therefore they disregard any rules the game may otherwise have about cost and type.
They're all half price as well but I'll see if I can reclassify one or two as something other than artists...

Is there any reason as to why you can receive the same type and level of advisor after retiring one? Makes it quite frustrating when you're trying to get a useful type and you wind up burning through your entire treasury doing so. I understand not wanting to let you always get the advisor you want but at least put one different type in between so that there's a choice and you can either take the new type or level of advisor or continue to play the "advisor roulette" mini-game.

It doesn't only happen when it is scripted. It happened in my Brabant game in 1.17.

I find that it helps to wait a few months before re-firing an adviser. I guess that after a few months the seed which effects which adviser is spawned is changed.
