Game Update: Played 1066 to 1270. Still not a repeatable CtD, although I had about 3 non repeatable ones.
Still no damn damn damn cultural conversion. Really guys, if that was to be true, I can't understand why I am not myself muslim cultured, since I am personally from that province in map in southeastern Iberia named "Denia", which was conquered in the second half of the XIII century, and I swear by whatever I hold sacred that the main culture of the whole area was Catalan and not Arab in the late XIV century without the shadow of a doubt.
Kindom of Naples has turned into... Republic of Naples. Well, I guess that somehow a claimaint of the napolitan throne got the presidency of the republic of Genoa and conquered Naples, holding his republican structure. Pretty neat, if you ask me. Germany, France and England implode and reform regularly, in cycles of what I would say would be 75 year or so, 25 years up or down.
Mongols appeared, as I said in my last report, but finally the last Golden Horde's appearance has made a impact, having conquered all northeastern russia, but they are holded into place there by the kingdom of Bolgar, which has been driven back to Ucrania... and the sudden irruption of the Kingdom of Georgia, which is holding the Russian South, the Caucausus (the WHOLE of it).
Il-Khanate has been squeezed every time they have dared to expose their head.
The previously all powerful Sultanate of Seljuk, that held its capital in Byzantion itself, holding all northern Greece, Bulgaria, Macedonia and Albania in Europe, and most of the Anatolia peninsula and their initial possesions (they were so powerful that they defeated the Kingdom of Germany and grabbed all central Italy), fell to an incredible amount of civil war and fractured so badly that it only holds possesions on northern Greece. Now Byzantion is held by... the Kingdom of the Abbasid! Yup, the Caliphate is now in Byzantion. All Muslim middle east and Anatolia is fractured, though.
Egypt is a patchwork of republic of Naples, Germany and France (although the french possesions of the Duchy of Cairo has gone independent). Northern Africa is in muslim hands yet, pretty peaceful if you ask me.
Sicily is partly in muslim hands (Shiekdoms) and a pair of provinces in the hands of the christians (Republic of Naples and Germany).
Player influence: All Iberia unified by 1130, after reconquista failed in all sides but mine by the 1100 (Duchy of Catalonia turned into Kingdom of Aragon). 1130 to 1230 I have been slowly conquering all of the Occitan cultured provinces (a self appointed game objective, always waiting for France and England to get involved in other wars... man, now IA DOES have a big punch if you let them, I have seen french armies of 30.000), and now in 1270 only a single one is out of my hands (in the hands of a very feeble Duke of Brittany, it's only matter of time for me). Genoa and Nice were conquered in 1230 when they rebelled against the german king. Central Italy and Rome was conquered during the 1210 decade from the turks as they began to fracture in a HUGE civil war as I mentioned. I still have a pair of provinces in the middle of it but all my holdings are territorialy coherent (that is, you can go walking from every province to any other without going out of my realm). My only possesions north of the Po river is the southwestern part of the duchy of Veneto (including Venice).
In 1260 I crusaded for Jerusalem (that had been for 30 years in christian hands, but only 3 provinces of that kindgom to the most) and in 1265 I created the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem with all provinces but 3 for my second son.
Oh, I had forgot!! The Papal states are now in... Avignon! After the pope was ousted by the muslims from rome, his lands were recreated in the Venaissin province, in the hands of my vassal, the Duke of the Dauphiné.
