MAX_CROWN_COLONIES = 9999, okay, now how do I restore tariffs income?

In static_modifiers -> overseas reduce local_production_efficiency = -1.0 to -0.8. Tariff ideas etc. would need to be changed too to be completely 1.3-like.

Edit: Not a complete fix of course. Tariffs were 80% of production, but modifiers didn't change that.

Why would you want to do that, aside from the obvious fact that national ideas that give bonuses to tariffs are completely useless if you bypass the new colonial mechanics? Those bonuses are hardly significant IMO, just there for flavor really.

Not to detract from the very obvious fact that it matters to you, and you deserve replies that are as on-topic as possible. I'm just curious.

Why would they be useless? I want tariffs income. I want them from my own overseas provinces, instead of production income, like in pre-1.4.

Just use the trick in steam to revert to the old version. I don't really remember about it but it was posted by the devs in bug fixes. It might be stickied there, or somebody will post the link here...

I don't want to revert to the old version, because I like the other changes and bugfixes this patch made. It's the trade and colonial changes that I absolutely hate.

That would just boost production income, while tariffs income would still be non-existent.

The tariffs per province are gone. I think you should experiment with the overseas production and tax modifiers and with adding province modifiers (using events) to recreate something like it.
