Playing as England, one of my Dukes keeps attacking and taking territory from my other Dukes... Is this happening to anyone else? I was under the impression this stopped once you passed a certain crown authority but mine is at max and it hasn't.
Max crown authority and vassals still waging war on each other...

The Duke is there, yes. But he's been attacking my other Dukes in Cornwall and Hereford. He has more Duchy titles (I dropped several because apparently everyone wants to kill me if I have more than a couple) and about the same demesne as I do at this point...
De Jure titles.
Basically, you're only King of England right now, yeah?
Your crown authority only applies to your De Jure kingdom -- if somebody's primary title is outside your De Jure kingdom, it has no effect.

I'm also King of Wales, I usurped it while helping take Wales. Forgot to mention that.
Wales has a separate crown authority from England, you need to raise it separately.

Oh wow, I didn't even notice the extra shield there. I had assumed it was applied to all your Kingdoms but I suppose that would make Empires a bit too easy to manage. Thanks a lot!

Not really.
Wales is a separate realm from England, you just happen to be king of both. Your vassals in Wales are under no obligation to obey English laws about what sorts of fighting (or lack thereof) can take place between vassals.
Remember, they aren't YOUR vassals, they are vassals to the Crown of Wales. Which happens to be you.

The best part is different inheritance laws in different kingdoms. Can be a bit tricky if one is elective and one is seniority for example
One thing I found out is that if you create a new kingdom it has the same laws as you primary kingdom at creation. Atleast it was that way when I formed Finland as Sweden. So it can pay of to delay creating such titles until you have inheritance laws were you want them.

I thought this was the case... but somehow, while playing an italian vassal, I couldn't attack other italian vassals anymore because of the Holy Roman Empire's high royal authority.
Special case.
The De Jure kingdom of Italy doesn't exist (yet), so it uses the rules of whoever controls the area.
...Pretty sure.
Unless of course there are already crown laws set for the Kingdom of Italy from when it existed prior to the game.
Exact, usign the demo, Mathilde can create the Italian Kingdom and so new laws can be passed, while if she also gain some fiefs in Germany proper, she will also have HRE laws.
That is the way for her to avoid to have the inheritance split btw the sons she may have.
The annoying thing about this system (which is otherwise very good) is that a king of a country outside the de jure boundaries of an Empire, who is a vassal to that empire is bound by their crown authority, not the emperor's. Currently, a king with low crown authority can attack other vassals of the empire, even if the Emperor has high crown authority, which is silly. What is sillier is that they can't attack other vassals if they have high crown authority themselves.
