I was watching the Cohh stream and noticed that when he pressed the max armor button in the mech lab it seemed to weight adding armor equally to all of the torso sections and to the arms until they're full.

That seems like a trap for new players since you'd really want more armor to the center torso. Losing the CT loses the mech and it has a higher to hit percentage than any other part of the mech on the hit table so equal armor makes the CT effectively more vulnerable than the LT and RT.

I hope that you'll consider looking at this (prior to launch if possible) and rescaling how the max armor button allocates armor so that it's a percentage of the maximum for each section of the mech rather than even across sections.

I feel like there should be two buttons: one is the current button, and another is "don't change my armor but fill in that last .04 tons somewhere since I can't do it myself".

The max armor button should distribute the armor that's still available NOT strip all the armor and redistribute it. This would let us set areas we want to certain levels (like the head and CT) and then it could distribute the remainder according to the percentages. Currently it re-distributes ALL the possible armor, even armor which has already been placed. That one simple change would solve a lot of issues with requiring additional UI elements.
