Statement to the Commonwealth of Albion
To: Lord Regent Alan Sugar, Sovereign of Albion
It has come to our attention that an Albish ship, flying Commonwealth colors and bearing atmospheric regulators and similar assorted technologies designed for colonization, has entered Baekduan space. We would like to make it clear that the Sejong system is Baekduan territory, and any attempt at setting up parallel governments in the system will be seen as a violation of our nation's sovereignty. The sovereignty of the Sejong system is non-negotiable and any Albish attempts at subverting the legitimate administration will be highly frowned upon by this government. We recommend that the ship seek out an alternate destination; alternatively, should the Albish colonists wish it, they will be welcome to settle in the Sejong system should they renounce their Albish citizenship and apply for citizenship in the Republic. We look forward to a peaceful resolution to this matter.

((Gorgan, I wouldn’t do that as it would be unprofessional. However the events of the past year, I believe, warrant another attempt to pass the amendment.))
After hearing this statement from the Regent, the Duke of Australias let out a laugh.
“My good man, I simply do not see how you could state such blatant lies. How can I possibly be tyrannical when I insured the protection of liberties of the entire nobility? My actions were the exact opposite of tyranny. The Communist King was the tyrant, and it is sad that you have forgotten that. But since you are such fast friends with the royal family, it is easy to understand why you would forget such an unpleasant thing.”
“Your statement about the rebellion being doomed to fail until the southern nobility stepped in, is quite interesting. You use the word ‘we ’, and while it is true you are southern noble, what you did yourself in the Civil War is quite questionable. It was the Duke of Wellington who led the charge against the royalist forces on Albion, not you. You only came out of the woodwork once the King agreed to concessions. It was then when you backstabbed the Duke of Wellington and other war heroes with your ascension to the Regency; something that is still mired in rumors of bribery on behalf of your pet company: Weyland-Yutani.”
“In addition, your statement on who forced whom to sign what cannot be verified, and will be debated by historians for decades to come. But that statement has nothing to do with whether or not this proposed amendment should be passed.”
“Your statement about me seeking to be free of the Commonwealth is indeed amusing. For if I truly wanted to break from the Commonwealth, I would have done it during the civil war, when the power of the Crown was at its weakest. Instead, I reformed the Commonwealth, bringing freedom to all of the nobility, even the ones that fought against me.”
“Yet your entire statement failed to mention Section B of the proposed amendment. It seeks to ensure that nobility in the other galaxy cannot be abused, one cause that led to our civil war in the first place. This was not the first time you fell silent upon this part of the amendment. Only a supporter of the Crown would actively and vehemently oppose this amendment.”
“Which of course is strange, since the Regent should be seeking ways of limiting the power of the Crown, not blocking the expansion of liberties of the nobility. So I asked the nobility, particularly the southern nobility, is this the Regent you really wanted? A Regent who is a friend to the royal family? A Regent who seeks to weaken the nobility? A Regent who has a relationship to a shady company?”
“I would hope that this August Council would resoundingly answer ‘No’ to these questions and support my amendment to our Great and Glorious Charter.”
~Alexander of House Layman, Baron of Laymantown, Count of Laymantown, of White Rock, and of East Linton, heir to the Earldom of Australias, Duke of Australias, and Last Bastion of Honor in the Commonwealth
"Yes, I was a friend of the royal Family, as were and are many of the nobility, even the duke of wellington himself who you like to strut up as your figure, which he would no doubt disapprove of." The duke of wellington stood up and nodded to Lord sugar, while many of the Nobility especially the southern nobles roared their support or jeered at the australian Nobles.
"My statement about your little rebellion is fact, you were defeated in the space the commonwealth would have soon had the ships to beat down you and your little fleet." Sugars voice rose to a roar, "how dare you accuse me of not only shirking my post in the war, were i fought more and up close and personal with my own people and put them down, that takes more courage then to blast an indiscriminate ship, i was part of the leading council, i was the 2nd to declare support for the duke, so don't you go on telling me that I was supporting the crown the whole time. And yes while the duke of wellington was the front poster boy of the revolution he was not in it for the top job himself.
At this the duke stood up, "I may know how to put a burning hole in an enemy from 1.5km but I was not the man to lead this polity out of its debt, thats why I asked lord sugar to be the regent on my behalf despite many southern nobles asking me too. SO I DO NOT LIKE BEING TOLD HOW THE REGENT WAS CHOSEN, worm." the duke spat on the ground before sitting down again.
"I do not take to being called a pet of a company, especially one that as the galaxy currently knows is not even confirmed to be a company that belongs to Albion, you say you could have broken free, but we both know that would have only made you an enemy of everyone, this way is much more subtle makes you still look good for the people, while carefully weaning the authority off you. I do not need to speak about section B as it is not the crux of the agument as I agree with it in principle, however i hope your aware,
Your Emininace, that as is the rules of our people you may not hold multiple noble title of the same rank, so no Duke of australias, XYZius and 123ius for you. Please
Layman tell me why should i be limiting the crowns power? the king we disagreed with is gone, I need not to do so, in fact I actually work on the big matters like helping repair the Commonwealth, while you sit their lining your own pocket of the misfortune of others, or through your shady deals.
But, no im the regent who has brought back albion from the brink, through deals with the PGC, the IMB and Diclonius, but no I am the regent who is a degenerate, who does nothing for the people, my only goal is promoting some shady company I have no relation too, see how stupid that sounds when you say it, Your Eminence, oh but I'm sorry, i forgot I'm speaking to the last bastion of honor!!!" Lord sugar turned round to the crowd, "here that he shouted to the nobility,
last bastion of honour, thats what he is, so if he is the LAST bastion of honor, does that mean we are dishonorable? See what he thinks of us, he sees us as snakes, crawling in the shadows and dishonourable cheats," He turned back round to stare at the duke, his eyes issuing the challenge, "
Don't you Your Eminence?"
As he finished his speech and sat back down he looked at the stunned face of the nobility, a minute went past before anything happened and when it did, it was glorious, the Nobles of Albion began to jeer at the Australians, before long the Indusians joined in to, to form a sea of nobility hurling insults at each other, it didnt take long for the first punch to be thrown; An East Indusian Earl who calmly walked up to the Baron Of Melbourne and punched him the face knocking him to the floor. Soon the scene was indescribable most of the East Indusians were out, suffering the first of the australians rage, while about half of the australians were down, wading through it all stood the duke of wellington punching anyone near him, while screaming all sorts of terrible curses.
Eventually the Speaker managed to get the house under control with the Help of MI4, and Regular police, as the stretches carried the injured away in a Weyland-Yutani marked ambulance, the remaining nobles were sent out to have a tea break before returning. at the end of the day, it would be revealed that the count stood at:
100 injured (50 east indus, 35 australians, 9 albion and 6 indus)
25 dead (12 east indus, 8 australias, 3 Albion and 2 Indus)
Earl Edmund Waterfall, East Indus Philanthropist
