There has been discussion whether some achievements are still doable, with the many new added provinces. Well, I decided to try Master of India. Lol, nearly made it! All necessary provinces were conquered (at least think so), but 2 uncored in the end. With little more effort I would have made it. Should have broken truces twice during 1800s, instead of once.

Last time I tried this was April. IMHO it was actually easier now. No more serious rebels and the coalitions around India were easily handled.

Going to try next year, again... :p

Just make alot of vassals in India to dump some overextension to:
If you have yourself + 2 vassal then you basically can conquer 3 times as fast with the same if not less problem of rebels (let everyone take a bit of every culture and nation to splitt the rebels into weak no rebelious factions), and this without any trucesbreak at all just by expansion cb, do it early and you have a better chance for it.
Don't let your vassals get to big however or you will have troubles to integrate them and then you can get new vassals.

If you can't form vassals in India with release vassals button, you atleast got client states for later game.

If I was you I would finish it of by creating a client state of that India.

i'm trying this achievement right now as Castille. It's 1598 and i have something like 15 provinces but i'm planning to gain much more quickly now that i have a solid foothold. Anyway one of my favourite beginning strategy is fight big countries, take 100% ws and release nations. With the new nation you will have only 5 years truce so you can dow and annex them. In this way in almost 50 years it should not been any big countries (aside timurids, that in my game have take a couple of indian province).

the achievement requires you have to own all the province, so subject will not count

You can annex your ordinary vassals (not protectorrates), I don't know if you can create ordinary vassals by annexing releasing vassals of Indian tech group which you will then feed for later annexation, avoiding large rebel groups and reducing overextension problem allowing noticable faster expansion.
Otherwise you can try to get hold on some muslim vassal or late game create client states which I think you can annex later.

when you try to release some indian countryies they will become protectorate. But in 1.8 the AI would try to westernize soon, in my game Bahamanis had finish to westernize, so i could vassalize them. Anyway i found direct annexation is way more faster and i don't really care for the AE, because is limited to indian countries.

for the client state i don't know, i don't have AoW so i can't create them, but it's a viable strategy if you can annex them

AE you can't avoid, but do not matter, overextension does and basiclly the only limit on how fast you can expand.
Maybe you can use muslim countries in arabia, they may be in coring range of India.
However if you plan early then time should not be a problem.

My mistake was not to focus on this achievement alone. I noticed two other within good reach, went for those and also got them. However, this delayed my actions in India.

I am not familiar enough with 1.8 vassal/annex changes, so I decided to go the simple way by conquering and annexing. But that was not the problem. With good focus and earlier actions, the achievement would have been so much easier.

Very fun game, anyway. :)

I directly cored most of India and China as Sunda, as well as all of Siberia East of Kazan. I diploannexed about 1/8 of Indian tax, Persia, and Japan, and I might get to 32/32/32 (if not I'll be close). I was not as efficient as I should have been with vassals.

Yeah. The achievement isn't even hard. If I can do that as a nation that has to blow points to westernize, a proper western nation can do it trivially. Hell, you can probably start as someone like Sweden and just conquer to it, though obviously using Ottomans, Russia, or a European horde (Crimea/Kazan/GH) would be more direct.
