Until EU3 I had no need for a better system than my Pentium 3 with 870GHz and 384RAM. Now I'm really troubled whether this game really worth spending hundreds of bucks on...
Well, I guess you'll have to face that your PC is really, really old. OK, thanks to the Ram most games from Paradox still run fairly quickly, but 512MB Ram is now more or less the minimum, better 1 GB. I guess as a game developer you can start thinking to make games needing 512MB to run smoothly as minimum. And your processor is very old.
You can get a new motherboard, ram(1GB) and processor(you'll go with a low-end for less then 100 €) so your new system should not be more than 300 €, and there should be even some money for a new graphic card.
As long as Paradox doesn't go crazy on hardware asking like other companies (I mean, 512MB and 1,5Ghz should now be something you should be able to play games, I don't say on max. details) I'm support more demanding software. My PC has now passed the 3 years-age, and I'll be able to play on it. Maybe one bar of Ram more (512MB more) and it will be perfectly fine for another year. But a lot of games from other companies are already asking for more, more, more! One PC change every 4 years should be ok. So, that means that new games should still be running (on medium-low details) on medium-high priced maschines which were sold 4 years ago. That's what I'm asking all game developers. And P'dox is still doing great for that.
