Hey everyone. I have been trying to breed a genius mage for my heir and make him immortal, but it seems when I give him a master mage tutor they almost always seem to become expert/master pilgrims. I know there is an element of randomness for this, but it has been around 5 generations and I still haven't gotten any kind of mage, master or otherwise. I did get a Master priest once and stole 3 artifacts that increased learning. I was so excited to have an immortal king as a ruler, but then he died mid ritual (which I didn't even know was a possibility )

Anyway my main questions are

1. Does having a mage tutor actually help increase the chances of child becoming a mage, or do Priest, Battlemage, etc give the same chance of the child becoming the mage?
2. What exactly determines the rank you receive? Base stats?
3. If I hypothetically got an expert mage, is there a way to increase your class rank to master through combat or some other way like you can with the martial classes?

This mod is awesome. I have been binge playing it for the last week and it just doesn't get old.

Whatever the rules are in vanilla, they're the same as here. In theory, a Master Mage has a higher chance of giving a Master level education.

The only thing I know for sure is that education traits are passed not based on the traits themselves but on the stats in those traits. An education trait with both learning and martial has a chance of giving the student an education trait that has learning or martial.

On the dieing chance the ritual is 50/50 for both immorality and lich. At least it was the last time I checked the events.
